So I'm going to pull a section of my grow journal out and paste it here.
I grow in soil with some fish fertilizer 8-8-2 lots of perlite and coco
I should mention that the source of my soil was unknown (possibly a mistake on my part)
It came from my friends dad he told me it was good dirt. It was dark and rich and very wet i mixed it with perlite and coco along with the recommended fish fertilizer.
I have maintained a source water ph of 6.5
my water comes directly from a constantly running stream next to my house
I am in a greenhouse with supplemental light at night to stretch.
Im in the rainforest of hawaii : )
Strain is Grandaddypurps
There are some issues in the garden.
Throughout the first month of life there were some slight issues on very young leaves which i now learning was possibly a start of a calmag deficiency.
Amongst other things i believe the plants to be slightly overwatered and the ph could possibly be off as well. This could also be rust or root aphids I’ve read. Anyway I’m going with my gut and that is calmag deficiency. The young leaves developed spots and died off then slowly the rust looking spots are moving to the tops of the plants. which leads me to believe calmag deficiency. Atleast thats what I’m gunna treat it for and report there reactions. Ive got a bottle of cal mag and will water it in my next watering. I feel like the plants don’t need water right now but I’m gunna do a tester anyway to see how it responds. I will water in the most effected plant with 4ml cal mag and I’m also gunna give one a foliar spray to see how it responds. I will also take a soil sample and test its ph. Will report findings in the days to come. I have sued the neamoil applications unitl the plants show vigorous growth again.
Ok i added some cal mag to the reservoir at 3/4 strength about.
3.5 gallons water in the reservoir
10ml calmag.
The directions say 3-5ml per gallon. I was closer to 3mlper gal then 5. but if they respond well ill boost it up.
I watered the big pot and the most directly affected plant. I also sprayed the most directly effected plant and put under the shade. Will report more when i notice changes.
Night time garden check:
The plant i sprayed had no obvious improvements but deffinately no negative effects.
Tested the soil ph of the plant sprayed, the plant most effected. it came up neutral 7 which could be a tad high.
I sprayed all of them with cal mag foliar feed before i went to bed.
I tried to be very thorough but if you have any questions ask and ill answer. I should also note that These photos are taken at night when the plants naturally droop every morning like clock work they pray.
Thanks guys any help would be appreciated.
OK so the site is unable to upload photos at the moment so i will do my best to describe symptoms and upload photos when the site figures out its own deficiencies. haha. When the plants got there first true leaves the pilot leaves started to show brown rust like spots. I thought nothing of it as it was not progressing to new growth. In the weeks to come it progressed and now i have rust like spots all over my fan leaves as well as some canoeing inwards like a classic lockout. Also accompanied by this is stunted slow growth. Will post pictures as soon as the website allows. Any insight?
