Ive been using regular tap water to water my plants, after i let the water sit for 24 hrs. Is this fine for my plants?

probably not. letting it sit is good but when i was using tap water it still sat at around 7.2 which is too high. get a ph tester and look into using R/O water w/ some cal-mag. peace.

I just get my R/O water from any grocery store with a water dispenser I have a few 5 gallon home dispenser resevoirs that i take in. pretty cheap too like .25 cents a gallon on average. I get the cal-mag at my friendly local hydro shop. I am sure any garden place would have it. pretty common I'm guessing. From what I heard though it is a must if your using R/O since it is basically empty water you know. hope this helps. peace.

Ok to lower PH that is 7.6 or higher (mine is 7.6 exactly) based on a pool water PH Testing kit. (it's all I had and hell I am cheap hence why I started to grow my own this year)

So I wanted to lower this 7.6 water to 6.2 thru 6.5
like our plants need and love, I read here that plants will not be able to accept MOST of the nutrients your adding if you do not have your water PH at 6.5 ish

Basic rule is Vinegar to lower, baking soda to raise

(I happened to have about 3 fresh lemons (a Vinegar or acid, hell I guess even pickle juice would work too...) and I add just under 1 Teaspoon to every 1 liter of my 7.6 tap water.

I filled up a 5 ltr water jug and added about 4 Teaspoons and it was dialed in at 6.5ish.

I am sure that this will vary by whatever acid you use but I am pretty sure you can say it would be safe to say all lemons have the same acidity within a few .ph's I dunno.. maybe even oranges would do the same but at a maybe 2 teaspoons per ltr.

your plants will be fine with water straight out of the tap if you are using a good potting soil mix. i don't even let my water sit up.

OK, use what you like and what you find that works. Keep convincing yourself that tap water and MG are just fine. When the shit hits the fan, don't whine. Kick yourself in the ass and spend the few bucks on a digital ph pen and see how fu^&%d up everything has been and how nice it is now that you get dialed in and get it right.

PH is one of THE most important factors. Get it right and the results will follow. :hump:

In essence I feel the same way and wanted to have that attitude toward growing it.. I wanted to plant it and walk away... however.. I also want to in the end walk away with a nice harvest and hell if it takes adding some lemons to my water to get better crops... I will make lemonade!
