Online clones- CCC (Canadian Clone Consulting) vs GTA Clones

OK, here goes...

Setup: 2 HLG 600 Rspec lights with the 30w UV supplement. Hillbilly, passive air cooling that is temp and humidity controlled, but definitely not perfect. 2 ×65 gal pots of 4 year old no till soil and a 2 tier SCROG net. It's my first crack with these lights and I think I already fried the fuxk out of a couple of the finicky plants. It's a learning experience this round, as it's new lights over stuff I've never grown before.

CCC

Wedding Cake (WC) and Pink Kush (PK). The Wedding Cake is supposed to be JBeezy's cut, whether it is or not who really knows. I'd say the odds are against it, but we can dream, right? The PK's origin is anyone's best guess, but it is tall, OGish in structure and has red pin striped stems., so if anyone knows anything about it, please chime in. Both were healthy and large, taking to new soil like Champs. No visible signs of pests in a month or more.

GTA

Peanut Butter Breath (PBB), Pink Kush (PK2), God Bud (GB) and Sunset Sherbet (SS).

All arrived very small with less than perfect roots, and all took some time to rebound, even after transplant.

I didn't take clone pics when they arrived, so you'll have to take my word for it, but the CCC were much better cared for, healthier and just all around better. They all seen healthy and vigorous now though, and the GTA bitches are not going to catch up to the CCC girls that arrived the day before. I think you'll laugh when you see the difference. For reference the net has 3.5" squares.

Here's some pics.

#2 Pink Kush (CCC)

#6 God Bud (GTA)

It's hard to get good pics with the SCROG net in the way, besides its the boring part of the grow anyway. I'm really just documenting the clones so you can see the ridiculous difference in size, etc... I'm also not sure why everything in the pics looks a little yellow, they are all very vibrant green with the exceptions being the God Bud and Sherbet, which both got sun burnt with the lights up too high. Those 600s hlgs are stupid powerful. I'll be veging until next Friday when they will receive 24hrs of darkness to kick off the flowering cycle. Woot woot!!!

Always fun to gro new stuff. Best of luck there Burt.
Like opening a Xmas present kind of. It's one of the things that keeps me going. The excitement of new strains.
But then you think what to do with the nice one you already have. Eventually I run outta room.

Word! I just tossed out 9 different strains I've had for a while. It's hard to keep a bunch of strains going, especially when you've had them for a while. I have so many seeds to go through, but laziness caught up with me and I didn't want to waste space on males that would be culled anyway, so when my buddy got me looking for Pink kush clones for him, I went a little stupid and ordered a bunch of shit. I just ordered some more different strains from CCC that I haven't received yet. Ordered them on Sunday, and they say 1 to 2 weeks before they ship.

Hopefully I end up with 3 or 4 keepers out of the 10 total strains I ordered. I really want the PK and the WC to be show stoppers, but it would be nice if they all turned out fire.

I've never bought any clones. How much were they? What did they come in?
Ya I have tossed out some long time strains myself this year. Replaced with new and equally enjoyable ones. Nothing goes til it replaced with a better one. That been a good strategy for me.
I've "helped" others with turnkey plants though. Ready to flower units. No vegging needed. Fully rooted and ready to go 12/12. So those folks don't need a veg setup. They like that a lot!

The clones from CCC were $50 and $35 each plus shipping, and the GTA were $50 per but if you buy 4 or more you get them for $25 each plus shipping. The cost is a little high, but I'm not concerned about that when packs of untested seeds are $200 (by the time you pay $100+ US per pack and the shipping) and you have to do all the selection work. In total, I think I doled out about $600 for 10 different strains, with +/- $150 for shipping. If I find a couple I like, probably be worth it, if not, i guess I wasted more money on my already stupid expensive hobby. Really though, if I grow more than an eighth of each plant, I pretty much got my money back, and for the price of 3 ozs of top shelf, I'll get a few pounds of, hopefully, pretty good dope.

They were both shipped in the same manner, a clear plastic bubble pack kinda like you would get grocery store bakery goods in, but designed for shipping clones each with their own root and stem sections to keep them supported and separate. I'll snap a pic when the new ones get here. They were both shipped next day shipping, and were less than 24 hours from when I received the "shipped" email, which would explain the ridiculous shipping costs.

Yeah, I give out whatever I find in seeds if anyone is interested, but most people I know are in constant search mode trying to keep up with new shit that is exactly the same as the old shit, trying to find that lottery ticket. This is actually the very first clones I've ever brought into my room in +/- 20 years of growing, so this is entirely a new experience. I'll try to be as honest and objective in my assessment of the initial/final product etc...

Yes they would need to be stellar strains to justify that cost. The shipping is worth it for sure to get them fast. I assume your not too far from the gta.
Yes seeds is a long end run with no results many times. I've gotten lucky on a few pack in my day though.
That's why it's so hard to drop a good one.
Sure love to see some pics when your able.
I wonder what business they're be for turn key plants?

Just lookes up ccc. They used my GG4 and weding cake picks, maybe the clones came from me lol.
Those were the two cuts I was contemplating buying from them.

Following along... would be nice if someone on this forum can verify is your WC is really the breezy cut.

Wow on the prices ! This year (in Nova Scotia) I paid $8. per clone. I am just finishing up trimming the harvest . Just over six pounds dried. I cannot imagine paying those "big city prices' for clones .........

Update, 3 days later all the GTA girls have popped above the net and starting to really flourish. This is the 1st day of week 3 in the notill pots, they have really.hit their stride, just a little behind the CCC girls.

Here's some morning group shots.

Top two are both GTA Pink kush
Bottom left is PBB and the bottom right is GB

Top is CCC- PK, the bottom is WC and the center left you barely see is the GTA- SS

This is a long shot of the full net. Yes, the fan will be moved once room in the net is a t a premium. 20211017_090006.jpg

The pin striping in the CCC-PK.

There is nothing wrong with either company's clones so far. All quite vigorous and healthy. My only gripe so far, and it's just being picky, is with the size and health of the GTA clones when they arrived., but after a little rehab and some love they have bounced back quite well.

I too am in NS and am able to get lots of clones from buddies for much less, even free. I was after something specific that I couldn't find here and to make the shipping costs feasible, I ordered extra plants, especially with GTA cutting the plant costs in half with the purchase of 4 or more. I'm not advocating anyone buy anything from these guys, just thought people might be interested to see what is available if you aren't connected and need to rely on the grey market clone stores.

I won't argue about the cost being stupid, but I would wager a guess that there are extra costs to running a clone operation that cuts, takes care of, packs and ships clones all over the country than your buddy's buddy that has clones in his basement for outdoor season. I don't mind paying for what I want, and we're going to see together if it was worth it. I have a feeling that, with the stem rubs and whatnot, it may just turn out in my favor. As I'm looking for something to keep for a while, I'm not as concerned with price as I am with the quality of the final.product.

I was told it was the jeebezy cut.
it does put on the frost. The GG4 made 22% in the press. I think that’s pretty respectable.
I got the gmo cut from the same guy. She goes long and puts on the frost to.
Here are my picks, I did them semi justice

Nothing wrong with those plants, good job!!. Those were the three I wanted, the WC, GG4 and the GMO, and I'll definitely be happy if mine look like yours.

Question, does the stem rub on the WC carry through to the buds?, Cuz it smells pretty dank, but no "cake" or vanilla, it's all TK funk.

Too funny. I've noticed a lot of the newer clone vendors use other peoples pics of the finished buds. Big red flag for me. If they cant show they've at least flowered the cuts they're slinging, then how are we supposed to trust they've vetted them at all.

They're nice pics though, Turp. You did a great job with them. I've run all three of those and they look like the real deal to me.
This is JBeezys WC outdoor starting to ice up.

Paying good money for a quality proven cut, especially a authentic breeder cut is well worth it IMO. Think how much a pack of seeds cost... I'd much rather pay say $100 for a proven clones of those same seeds. Wanna pay $150 for a pack of Mac1 seeds or pay that same amount for Caps personal cut of Mac1.

I can get about a dozen different strains for $4 bucks a rooted clone, any quantity, which has been the going rate for a few year now. I can get a bunch from friends for free as well but would be just a few snips or a rooted clone or two.
