Does anyone know any reputable non-profit group that helps the people who need it most to get their meds for free/low cost? Even better if its for veterans. I'd like to donate to such an organization if there is one...I remember seeing a website a couple years ago for one in the PDX area but now I cant seem to find anything. Have a great day everyone

I'm a holistic nurse and MMJ advocate. I have an existing non-profit, and planning to start another that's MMJ specific. I currently help my clients by furnishing them with peer-reviewed research to take to their primary physician, to support asking their pcp to sign the ommp paperwork. This often saves them the exorbitant fee to pay an MMJ specific dr to do nothing but provide a signature. I'm also a grower, and I make RSO from my trim leftovers, and donate full cancer regimens of my (60mg) to cancer patients who couldn't otherwise afford it.

I'm also working on my cannabis nurse certification so I can better counsel my patients about the best strains and methods of administration for their specific issues. If this sounds like the type of service you'd like to support, drop me a note. I'm in southern oregon (Rogue Valley).

I check these forums periodically because of RSO related issues and Oregon Green Free. It is the perfect storm of both that compels me to post after all these months. OGF used to be a compassion organization but has long since abandoned any pretense of patient advocacy and charity and shifted their resources to legalization. As for the above poster Nursejanna, while I appreciate your compassion for the sick, RSO made from trim leftovers should NOT be given to cancer patients as the proper way to make RSO is to perform a WHOLE PLANT EXTRACT. That would be everything except the roots and larger stems, don't take my word for it watch any youtube or Phoenix Tears video tutorial by Rick Simpson. While he and I disagree on solvents ( I personally only use 190 proof grain alcohol ) it is clear that in order to obtain the cancer fighting benefits you must extract the essential oils from the entire plant. This is why real Oil Makers are hard to find as I have seen grown men cry as I immerse 3 pounds of plants material, mostly flowers, in 5 gallons of everclear.

I have also heard the controversy about RS oil. Unfortunately I'm not yet to the point where I can spare whole plant material to make oil (vs using only sugar leaves and kief), especially when I'm providing it at low to no cost to my patients. Although RS oil may indeed be inferior to whole plant oil, I have myself witnessed significant improvements in my patients with cancer that have utilized it as specified on the Rick Simpson website. I also have several patients with chronic pain issues who used RS oil to wean off prescription pain meds. For these patients the RS oil has improved their conditions, reduced harmful medication dependency, and provided better quality of life, so I see it as beneficial. I do understand what you're saying about whole plant oil, as I take it myself daily...but for those with limited options, RS oil is a great alternative.

I've been thinking the same thing. This is the first outdoor grow I'll be doing, but if I do plant 6 plants and if they all survive the micro-climate I'm in, I should have some surplus that I would love to properly and legally donate, I just haven't found the channel for it yet. I'm new to being an OMMP grower (my wife is the card holder), so I'm still learning my way around the system.

I haven't researched it because I'm months away from even knowing if I'll have a surplus, but one local website that might have that info is OMMP Pay it Forward -- you might want to check them out.

Thanks for the info on Oregon Green Free. Right now ive joined Pay it Forward and it seems like a great place for what I am looking to do.

Get in line guys…you will really see how good you grow now when no one wants your pot…lol..
Not quite sure I understand what you are trying to say.

Pretty sure he's just saying that now that everyone and their mother grows pot, it will be hard to get rid of anything less than tip top shelf for reimbursement.

I figured it was something like that, thanks for the translation lol.

Maybe there is a confusion-- I'm talking about pure charity and not the donation/reimbursement process of selling to clubs. Everyone and their mom grows now, but there has to be a significant percentage of sick people who still fall through the cracks and could be helped.

Amen to that.
