Northern Lights Feminized slow growing question.

I am growing Northern Lights Feminized seeds from Buydutchseeds. This only the second time I have grown. The first time they all turned out to be males. Today is week 6 in veg 24hr light cycle. Also I measure veg period as from first sprout from soil. This girl is 6 weeks old today but is only 8 inches tall. She is bushy as hell but is growing slow in height. The males that grew last time were almost twice that at the same age. There are 7 nodes with very little room between them. Raising the light doesn't seem to have made any difference. Does anyone know why this is? She still has about 3 feet of height left before she runs out of space with the light. At this rate it will take forever to fill my grow room. Should I just do 2 plants at a time? Also does anyone know why the site won't let me make a grow journal?

why are you reflecting light to the underside of the leafs? Its genetics probably making it not be tall, heighth will not determine yield. Not sure on the journal but its probably cause you dont have enough posts?

hi, i had some blue mistic theyre northen lights cross, that were slow on 24 hr, went to 18/6 and they started to fly, don't know if it was coincidence or what! if your worried try that,
good luck

I'll try that as well. And the extra light on the bottom is just to get the light as spread out as possible. I had it on the floor but the plant perked up and the light reflected better like that, serves as a minor barrier agains fungus gnats too. But I am going to try a 18/6 cycle with the next plant just to see how that goes. I had considered the genetics being the cause but I always figure it's worth a few second opinions.

Noladiesel, Is yours Indica dominant or Sativa dominant? Judging by the leaves I would assume mine is Indica dominant. That's something else I wondered is how much it will stretch in flowering. Thinking of switching next week. Wanted to run my first plant just statring from seed, no topping, cropping, or tying. Then I can experiment with the clones and 4 other seeds.

males seam to grow more upwards . like a corn cob. females spread out more . don't worry about height my friend . that plant if I put it under one of my lights it would pull 2 ounces off of it as is . it will stretch once you put into flower . also if you worried about making it grow really fast . hook up a metal halide light . run that 24/7 watch the plant grow 1 inch a day. that's what the big boys use when there in a hurry .

remove the reflective material from the bottom, let the pot breath !!! the bottoms of leaves do not collect light and a node a week with LED's is not bad growth at all

plant looks good

Reflective material is removed from the base. It was the only piece left from the set up and it did brighten the room a bit. It partly there to discourage fungus gnats. Had an outbreak in my vivariums but applied some nematodes a couple weeks ago and they're pretty much gone. Added some to the girls pot too.

a way to summarize this a led light is a
and a mh light is a
so growing with different lights makes a huge difference .

I'm gonna stick with the LEDs for now. They may be a factor for the slower growth but if that's the price I pay for cheaper electric and lower heat that's fine with me they obviously work to grow with. I use SunBlaster T5s on my vivariums but they get too hot for my grow closet. Unless I want to do a bunch of exhaust.

are you letting your pot dry up between watering just wondering
I do. I try not to let them get too dry though. Some people say a little drooping is good between waterings but I've found most plants (non-cannabis) seem to like it to just be regular but not too much.

cannabis like to dry up a good bit not desert dry but a very light pot
and led's putting out no heat really kinda slow the drying process a bit
this is just my opinion / from my experience
im not a botanist or anything lol
but i have noticed over watered plants grow slower
but hell it might go beast mode after the flip ;)

I'll try letting her dry out a bit more often. She's in a big pot so I'm sure that slows the drying too.
