actually some of the most top quality LED are made in China, it's just the mass produced ones aren't. There is a polish company that's very very good at LED's, i will be back to this thread when i have the big daddy (or small daddy) of LED :blsmoke:
I would love to hear about what you find. Please come back when you get an LED and share your experience. Always looking to improve. Thanks!

About 2 weeks into flowering. I added two huge 2700K CFLs to help add more white to the light spectrum in there. Things are looking good so far.

And here are the little ones vegging in the cabinet. Added a large 6500K CFL in there as well to help them out.

The plants in there include Chemdawg, Purple Wreck, Arjan's Ultra Haze #1, a Northern Light Blue clone and a C99 clone.

Yeah. I was going to get a T5 fixture for in there, but had success with CFLs and I had a ton of the socket cords laying around so I went out and found these ginormous bulbs. They put off a shitload of light and the The plants responded very well to them. Some people have a pretty low opinion of the CFLs, but my first grow was LED/CFL and turned out pretty well. Just experimenting to see what works. If this works to my satisfaction that would be nice since these are dirt cheap to run and last a long time. I guess we will see. bongsmilie

well i wouldnt want cfls straight up, but as a suplement to led is a rather great idea to get the most light for not a lot of dough

Some more pics...not a lot has changed since last time, but I had them so I figured what the hell. Starting to see budsites develop nicely:

Things progressing well. They both look very healthy and stretching is starting to wind down for sure:

Lots of thick stems on the tips

I took a picture of this branch because I thought it was cool. I trained the main branches to essentially grow horizontal which resulted in this:

Definitely inexperienced so need to work on this a little, but it was pretty fun training it each day and the plants are so forgiving - notice the tape where I split it a little. I just loosened all the ties and wrapped tape around this section, pulling tight so the two halves went back together. I have checked under there and it is all healed, didn't even skip a beat due to this. But definitely need to be more careful in the future :joint:

I have seen your plants. Amazing! Skills bro, skills.

I am stoked to start training the Purple Wreck and the Arjan's Ultra Haze. But before finishing those I will likely take several clones of each.

Thanks buddy! yup yup clones are a must to keep the good strains goin. i always cut more clones than needed then take the fastest most vigorous rooters to keep strong genetics.

At the end of 4 weeks of flower. Things are continuing to develop well, starting to see trichomes emerge on both plants.

Here is the Northern Light Blue:

And here is the Tangerine Dream:

And here are the plants that are vegging for future runs - Chemdawg, Purple Wreck, Arjan's Ultra Haze #1 (also a C99 clone, an NLB clone and a TD clone).

The 90w is from HTG Supply - it has 2w LEDs and is definitely on the bluer side of things, but I have flowered it with it twice with good results - thought definitely will use this for mothers and clones once I acquire a better light system.

The 135w is from Lighthouse Hydro and is the Blackstar UFO with 3w LEDs - it is very bright and definitely redder than the 90w. But in the small tent they both overlap so the plants benefit from both lights for the most part.

These definitely are not enough by themselves, I have figured that out in just a couple of grows. I added the CFLs and it made a huge improvement in the speed of development. I am hoping to purchase a Blackstar Chrome 405w panel in the coming months that will be used for flowering allowing me to use these lights for smaller environments.

End of 5 weeks into flower. These were taken a few days ago, I will update with some better closeups. Trichomes are coming in rapidly now. The girls are super healthy the buds are starting to fill in nicely. Pretty stoked. :joint:

duudical you should post a link to your grow in this thread https://www.rollitup.org/led-other-lighting/240615-led-users-unite.html so the LED gang can take a look. And if you don't mind a little more free advice, don't pull the trigger on the Chrome just yet. Area51's newest models are coming soon and should be priced near what Blackstar is getting for Chromes. You'll get a much better panel and warranty from Area51 plus the guy who owns the business posts here (Eraserhead in case you didn't know) so you know what they're designed for :eyesmoke:! Good Luck and I'm Subbed!
