My current and first run ’should’ be done in a couple of weeks so I’m chomping at the bit for starting the next one!

I will be running mephisto genetics and have a 2.3x2.3 and 4x2 tent. Should I run 1 plant in the smaller tent in a 5g fabric pot and 2 plants in 5g pots in the larger tent OR 2 in the smaller tent in 3g pots and then 3 plants in the larger tent in 3g pots.

I‘m leaning towards 1 in smaller tent and 2 in larger tent but open to suggestions and reasoning!

I just ran some 5 gallon pots for the first time. Too much soil imo. 3G are best for autos.

for example the 5g plants yielded between 4.5-7ozs.

The 1.5g pot yielded 3.8ozs!

Go with 2 and 3 plants in 3g containers

hey nutty, is that auto's in general, or you growing certain company's genetix like mephisto or something like that
This latest run was a mixture of fastbuds/Rocbud. You’ve got to do a little research into the right strain, just like photos as the hybrids/sativa leaning plants produce a lot more. Plus take better to training.

Just got a PB with this strawberry pie from
Fastbuds. 221g, 7.8oz :)

probably no help, as it go's against everything people are saying, but i baught a book on growing auto's, and the guy was pushing mephisto's genetix. he was saying to place them in the largest pot you can get away with, saying his largest plants were in big pots. but ive not seen any evidence of it. just thaught it worth a mention

Mesphito are the most stable autos I’ve grown. Most are bred to f4.

I don’t know how big you can grow in. Biggest I’ve done is 5gal. It’ll depend on how vigorous the plant is. Some of their strains remain quite small, forgotten cookies, strawberries to name a couple. But their larger plants may well fill a 10g pot. I think it’s a bit of waste considering their life cycle is below 100 days.

Another very important thing I’ve learnt is to make sure the soil (if using a large final pot to start in) has a low EC (1.2EC is what I use) so it promotes rapid rooting. If the soil is hot the roots don’t expand as well and more than likely the plant will be stunted as it transitions to flower

@Marq1340 That’s one hell of a fabric pot!

Think I’ll do one 5g in the 2.3x2.3 so I’ll have space for a small humidifier if needed and then three 3g pots in the 4x2.

Now I need to choose strains! I have the mephisto seeds listed below plus a couple other freebies that I can’t recall
  • Double grape
  • Strawberry nuggets
  • skywalker
  • 3 bears OG
  • Creme de la chem
  • Ghost toof
  • strawbba the hut
  • Skywalker x Toof Decay
  • (Skywalker x Samsquanch) x Northern Cheese Haze

Im just getting my feet wet with autos. As with everything, it’s been trial and error. First few didnt turn out well. Mainly because im used to popping seeds in a small white fabric nursery bag, then veg in a 3gal plastic (making it easy slide out), and finish in larger fabric pots. Usually I do 7’s or 10’s for my photos. This recent run I went with 15’s, about 2/3 full. Loving my results so far. And Im only on Week 5-6 (i think. my pics have dates made from string & ties that i had laying around) Always start autos in what you’re going to finish in. No transplanting whatsoever (I wish someone would have told me). The clock starts once they pop, and you dont want anything slowing them down. Including pot size, esp at the finish line, IMO. I feel like “as above so below” is the case with any plant. More roots, more yield. So 3gal seems small, if you want maximum yield. But it sounds like you’ve got a good game plan for the space you have. Im blessed with too many bedrooms. lol. As for breeders? Just make sure they’re reputable witg a proven track record. There are sooo many nowadays. Muddies the water a bit. Fastbuds, Ethos and Mephisito have all proven their worth to me personally.

its only what the book said, and its only one ppersons results from growing mephisto's seeds. but his results looked great. they say autos afe fucy because there life span is so short, it takes the life out of them if they have to repair themselves in any way.
i myself think the larger the pot the better after reading the book.
well yoiur plants are looking nice n healthy, so just keep doing what your doing i say

Dang…three of the four have already popped and ready for soil (put them in wet towels on Wednesday). Double grape hasn’t popped yet but hopefully soon or I’ll try another seed from my pack.

Fock…waited a bit to long to get these in the dirt. Two already shed their shells and one had a taproot 2” long! Double grape just now cracked so it goes in soil tomorrow in the smaller tent by itself.

Double grape went into soil this morning. CDLC and Ghost Toof both broke through soil since being planted last night and I can see 3BOG peeking!

So fun when the grow begins!

Do you guys just let them go o natural? Or top them.
I'm assuming super cropping an auto is fround upon.
Just trying to plan my second attempt.

My first run I topped a couple and did LST on a couple others. Topped plants had more bud sites but the LST ones had larger buds. I plan to top and LST some this time to see what that produces.

Exactly what I'm finding on my first as well. The 2 that I topped are behind the other 2 that I only lst'd.
Thanks, good luck.
