they'll work, but theres a reason people use metal halide and high pressure sodium lights, and theres a reason people pay for good cobs and quantum boards, because you get a lot better results with them. start out with what you have, and if you like what they do, stick with them, but i started out with led floods, and went to H.i.d., and now i'm moving on into quantum boards

those aren't lenses, those are just covers to keep the leds from getting damaged. as long as you aren't going to be bumping into it or using a mister anywhere close to it, you can remove the covers, i'm running my QB with nothing on it.
not sure how good it is, try it, if you like it, get another

almost there.......
i just brought the two old plants back in.........ones almost dead.........
can i re-veg by changing the light cycle back to 18/6?
waiting for 2 x two way wall fans, as the temp is back up to 32.5c........i will also add a co2 generator once the fans are installed......which should help with the high temps...........

you can reveg a plant as long as it still has leaves on it, but it takes a good long while, probly take about 3 months before it starts to grow proper leaves again

I've just finally started 4 x white lsd autos. Been in 5 days under 4 x 25 watt cfl's for now. Worried about lights......Daytime max temp 32c n nighttime low temp of 27.5c........fingers crossed.

8th day & looking to swap out my cfl's for 13w led bulbs with diffusers removed. Trying one for now & throws out a much brighter light.......also cooler & cheaper to run....ordered 6x13w@6500k & [email protected] at also 4x13w@3000k & [email protected] seedling (closest) is lagging behind.....quite happy with the growth rate for 5 gallon pots.......but am worried about watering.....the soil is very dry round the edges.....just been giving them a good misting (6.5pH) 2 or 3 times per day.....lowest temp at night is 28c....day time high of 32.5c.... Hoping swapping to leds will drop another degree or so.... Attached picture is from day 6..... got the light cycle at 19/5.....pmsl....

Ya just need an ac unit for the heat bro. Im telling you. Heres a post of mine in another thread about the very same problem i had.

I feelya bro. I had same problems when it came to heat and humidity. When i switched from small led grow strip to just 1 600 watt hps the temp rocketed to 34 degrees plus. Every solution came with another problem. After a great deal of trial and error i cracked it, i hooked up an AC unit outside the tent ducted it into the tent with a 6 inch fan down the line to boost the flow but with that came the problem of very low humidity because it was only pure 15 degrees air going in i solved this by dragging more of the ducting into the tent n sort of wrapping it round the base of my plant pots the cold air running through it meeting the hot temps inside caused condensation on the pipe within the tent bringing humidity back up with it im now managing 2 600 watt hps with temps sitting around 26-28 degrees and rh around 40-50 percent im still hoping to pull off 3x600watt hps for flower n when i do flip ill pull out the extra ducting from in the tent to bringhumidity down to 20-30. Keep up the good work bro.

Yes this is all info regarding a tent, but im sure you will get the same effect ducting an AC into a brick grow room. Allthough because your lights wont be generating as much heat as 600watt hps lights i doubt you would get the same effect with the ducting creating humidity through condensation. Hope this helps and GL with your grow man.

yes celsius......43.5 the other day..... it's an extra hot summer.............gets cooler May onwards......a bit.
you know when it's hot cos the air off the fkn fan burns you........pmsl.......
I grow sativas in Australia in the same temps out doors fine. They do string out a bit and get whispy buds. They do need extra care on the really hot days

Last night temp dropped to 26c & rh 94%. expecting around 32c max today, will check rh at noon. not used the a/c yet. max temps should start to drop a couple of degrees at this time of year, so no more than 32. on another note; as I put the autos directly into 5 gallon pots, will there be a growth spurt after the roots have grown a bit? the attached pic is after 11 days.....cheers!

Wow 94% humidity. Definetly wont be having any trouble keeping humidity up lol must be so muggy where you are how do you breathe haha. Going to need to find a way to get that down significantly when it comes to flower man a de-humidifier perhaps? All though again, if you hooked up an AC unit this would help bring humididty down due to nothing but clean cold air going into the room.

rainy season.....for another month or so.
rh dropped to 70% for a few hours in the afternoon. should drop more when I add more lights for flowering. also the portable ac has a dehumidify option. hoping to see some growth soon!

two weeks since planting...... due to hardly any growth & light green colour on 3 babies I decided to give them (3) a very light feed & boost the lights up....fed them 25-5-5 ferts @ slightly under 0.25 recommended dosage (150ml)...6.6ph......keeping my eye on them hourly......
the brown stuff is cinnamon to keep the fkn ants off......pmsl
