Hi Everyone!

Just wanted to say hi! I'm a new member, as well as grower. I just wanted some feedback on how my 2 plants look. My setup is 250hps in a 4x2x7 tent, with an air cooled hood. Carbon filter on outlet hepa on intake. Temp is 79 day 68 night. Growing in soil 3.8 gallon pots fox farm fert/fox farm nutes ph is at 6.1-6.4 depending on if I just watered or not. I keep the light around 6 inches from top of plant moving it up about 2 inches every morning. The strain is "Heavy Duty Fruity" I have read post that say 6 weeks to harvest and some say 9 weeks. If you know first hand please let me know. So how does my girls look after 2 weeks? I wish they looked more like pictures I see of other after 2 weeks into bloom. Do i need a bigger light? more nutes? Or do i just need more patience? At any rate, any feed back would be nice and appreciated thanks.

Would it be better to not flush this harvest seen I do not have an educated guess on harvest time as of now? And start flush with next grow same strain so I have a better idea on time. Or wait till they are done then go 2 weeks more for flush?

Place your wrist over the top of your tallest cola and move your light closer until you can feel the warmth on your wrist, then back it off a bit until you cant. (just like a mother testing a baby bottle on her wrist before she feeds the baby) Your looking for a range from 12-16 inches from the top of your plant. Remember every 12 inches or so that you remove the blub from the plant costs you a shitload of lumens. ( I think its like 40% or so, but I'm sure I'm wrong and one of the dudes on the board will correct me, but the point is still valid: @ 250 watts, any lost lumen is a crime against your garden, you need all the lumens you can get.) Float that light at that range and it will help. Check the top of your plant every day, even twice a day and make sure it hasnt grown up into that "hot" range, and if it does, raise your bulb an inch or two until its out of the heat.

Do this every single day until the plant stops growing vertically, usually somewhere around day 14-16 in flowering.

Your plants look clean and dont show any signs of over watering or nutrient deficiency. and they're not stretched too badly, Ive seen and produced way worse as I learned to grow. Remember, I wasn't born the weed baron you know out here on the streets, I had to grow my 8 crops a year for 10 years before you met me. My point is that this game requires tons of practice, and tons of fuck ups before you find your rhythm and start producing top shelf meds.

Dont forget your bug treatments on that Heavy Duty Fruity strain, I grew a room full of it not too long ago and it seamed like it was hella susceptible to pest, and I keep a ridiculously clean garden. All strains are like little kids, and all have their own problems and issue, perks and pleasures, and in my opinion that strain you have is a bug trap.

I have some really nice clones coming off in a week, and your welcome to have a few of them for free if youd like to try something more robust that may yield you a good amount of smoking meds under that extra small flower light you have..

Call me next week and remind me I got stoned on rollitup.org and promised you free clones and Ill hook you up with my flagship strain. We put it together at the breeding barn with a cross between Critical Mass and the ultra rare Purple phenotype from Deep Purple and got this crazy purple monster that frost over like a fuckin snow globe even under shitty lights, and its almost completely immune to bugs.

You got my #.

Peace

Answer: Flush the fuck out of them for 1 day if you so desire. I mean flush them with a garden hose until they pee like it rained outside, then dont water them for 2 days....when they start to feel low on water resume the previous feeding schedule....you can basicly flush them like this as often as you want, as long as you feed them well between cycles.

I flush my plants at 4 or 5 weeks (halfway point of eachcrop cycle) for 2 days, just to remove any unwanted salts from the soil beds, but again, as long as you feed them well, you can flush the fucking horse shit out of them whenever youd like.

Yea like he said, But I def want to highlight the lost lumen part...My buddy is in the same stage as you, running 1000w HPS about 14" From tallest cola, the closer the light bigger the bud. Only prob my buddy has is controlling his heat (91) but his babies are still sexy, so u shouldn't worry about the heat you will have. Move that light as close as you can, your only at 79 in there...mid 80s on the plant wont hurt, whats your humidity like? are you sealed?

Thanks for the advice brother. I do keep it as close to the top as i can, and move it up daily but she wont stop growing and i cant slow her down. I have not fed any N for 2 weeks. Accourding to my feeding schedule it calls for more N this week /wrist im on weeks 7 of fox farm feeding chart. That said it is a bad or good idea to trim the lower growth ( bud sites) as it gets taller or is it to late seen im already 2 weeks into flower?

Not sure the humidity and I dont think im 100% air sealed, seen its a tent with zippers. I will get a humitdity gaudge in the next weeks or two. I hear this strain's cola tend to mold if humidity gets out of hand.

You are correct. Mildew and Mites are your two biggest enemies in a tent. Keep that humidity down to below 45% for best results. If you are struggling, buy a dehumidifier, its worth the investment in a tent.

For your first grow, I suggest you follow the foxfarm feeding schedule to the letter. Get to know your nutrients and the strains your feeding them first, then adjust that chemical dynamic between them after youve found your pace. Once you know exactly what your strain needs, then play with adjusting your chemistry. (dont forget to get that PH to 6.5ish, that's hella important.)

Growing high quality chronic is alot like opening up a pack of baseball cards, except you do it really really slowly, over the course of months, dig it? You have to know what you have before you change anything.

If your plants too tall, simply take its tallest cola and gently bend it over and tie its top down to a plant spike so it isnt so tall.

Did you remember to top your plants before you flowered them? Remove the very tip top cola so the plant grows bushier and not taller?

No I didnt top before flower I'll make note of that for next grow. I also used hps from start of flower. I read to use MH for first 2 weeks to avoid strech, is there truth in this? I would have to say they have more then doubled in size in the last 18 days. But did notice yesterday after lights came on, the top colas didnt really grow but the lower 1's grew alot, is this normal?

If you top your plants, it will stunt thier height growth considerably. Always remember to top your girls once they've reached the 7th or 8th node, and it will save you height. The MMJ plants want to grow crazy tall, some even 12-15 feet tall, so you have to stunt that by topping them or they outgrow your space. Topping them will also increase your yield exponentially.

Some people swear by HPS in veg, some people swear its irrelevant. Im in the latter camp. I veg under (5) 1000w HPS bulbs, and my girls shoot from clone to 36" in about 2.5- 3 weeks.

You can usually expect them to double in size from the day you put them into flower, and some plants will triple, no shit.

By the 14-18th day in flower though they should be hormonally flipped to female sexual production and start shooting out buds, and when that happens you can pretty much expect your growth to die off considerably as she now focuses on bud and crystal production.

When your top cola reaches its tallest point, the lower regions of the plant with then bush out a bit for a few days until she finds her girth. Most strains will grow tall first, then wide. There are always exceptions though.
