Yea. I have lots of diy hlg stuff around. I was looking at some drivers to do something new with. But the price of drivers made me think maybe I should entertain fully built fixtures instead, haha. Not to mention wanting to try something new, specifically spectrum wise.

Just checking them out, and scanning the lab report. 420w each, getting good ppfd numbers? Even numbers?

Well, I'm thinking about a 4x6 ish area, but it's not a tent, and would have a wall on one long side and one short side (with panda or some reflectivity). But could just pretend it's for an 8x4 area.
Yes, I only ran them at 100% during mid to late flower, then started dimming it down towards the end.

I haven't seen that, do you have a journal or something for your personal grow now. And is your commercial shut down? I know you've got a nice consulting gig now.
2 ROI 420's in a 4x8 tent. 90 days veg, and almost 4 months flower.. this was an experiment to see how much yield I could get with a long veg with one plant. Video was shot 30 days before harvest......

These (GrowersChoice) are the lights I used to make that one monster Dosi Whoa! that yielded 2.47 lbs.
1.33g per watt? Is that still a metric people use? Haha.

4 months flower!?

Edit, oh wow - one plant. Nice. Nice quality video too. Those bud go pretty far down too. What was the density like down there?

... and yes, that's one thing I discovered .. the longer you veg, the longer it's going to take to flower.... but, it makes more yield. When's the last time you heard of 1 plant yielding almost 2.5 lbs indoors?

but that was with just one plant. 2 might do better, IDK. Im gonna try it on my next run.
Yea, two sounds good. Try that out for sure.

I've never heard of that... very interesting though.

A few minutes ago. Haha.

They look like nice sized flowers too. One thing I absolutely will not go without next harvest is a trimming machine of some sort. Researching that lately. But that's another topic.

Where Im at, trimmers are cheap, even tho this was a personal plant, I hired trimmers to do it. It was like $200 and a zip of the product. Totally worth it to me.. I hate trimming.

.... 4 years of no days off, Im sure you would be too. It got cheaper and cheaper to hire hand trimmers the last year and a half here. I've seen it as low as $50 a lb. dry trimmed, and market ready.

Yup. I despise trimming. I don't even wanna talk about it.

I'm surprise at the drop off in ppfd on the E420 by the time it's 1.5 or 2 foot from the center, but these lab par charts are done in an open area I think.
I thought the bar style lights were supposed to be more even but I guess reflectivity or advance 'layout' (of the diodes or bars, etc.) is required to achieve that.

I think so too. No reflectivity. But a decent tent has great reflectivity. Results are results. I got proof.

It's not just PAR or reflectivity tho.. you gotta train her. Top, super crop, weave, train, expose as much of the canopy as possible, etc.

I'd much rather train fewer plants and get more yield than more plants with less yield. It's cheaper on the nutes and less work... other than training.

The good news, looks like growerschoice site has shipping to canada and full estimates with duties all sorted out. Very nice. Bad news, two of those fixtures are over $2000 CAD. $1400-1500 of that is the lights, the rest is shipping and duties.

No shit??.. I think I paid around $500 each with free shipping.. but, things have changed in the past couple of years.

Yea. Things have gotten more expensive. Damn. Haha.
Ok, well thanks for your help, and your experience here. I'll take these things into consideration.

Where did you get the idea to try a longer flower time based on size of plant? If I'm getting that right?

Well... I've never vegged one for 3 months, and it just took 4 to flower, so I just assumed that's the way it works... like I said, it was an experiment. Makes sense tho.. there's more biomass there to mature... for one plant.
