Need some advice on buying lights/fixtures/ballasts...

Brand spanking new on the forum. I'm getting ready to set up my first grow closet and have some questions about buying my light set up. I'm familiar with the types of light, when to use MH and HPS, and why you need them. My main question is would it be better to purchase a complete light kit that includes the hood, ballast, plug, etc? Or would I be better off purchasing everything separate? I've only shopped around a little bit, but I tend to see a little bit of both. I'm going to be using around 400-600 watts based on my area and needs....for now. So this means I also would require a single set up that I can swap out my bulbs for veg/flowering stages. Again...this is due to room constraint and budget. I know these obviously exist, but just looking for some more advice to nudge me over the edge to pull the trigger on a particular set up.

Its up to u brother. If u wanna get like a package deal that b cool probably save u some money digital ballast are nice and quiet with less heat put out but much more expensive I'd just get a package deal with a magnetic ballast make sure it's "switchable" so u can run mh and hps and the deal should come with a decent reflector bulbs and power cords and junk? Hope I answered ya question. Go shop around at ya local hydro store they will definitely help u out.

OK, cool. I've been shopping around and checking on prices here and there. Would anyone have any good websites that are reliable for ordering supplies? Or anyone care to post similar combos that they are using that you've had good luck with? 600 watts, switchable, would prefer digital ballast, bulbs....
