Move to Co and work in the canna-business?

Hi everyone, My Cannabis Kitty and I have been debating a subject and can't seem to agree. She says "Let's move to Colorado and inject ourselves into the "canna-business". As tempting as that sounds it seems to me not such a simple task. I understand paperwork alone is very expensive, permits, grower's license, business license, etc. Can anyone in "the know" from Co please explain how this process works? We were thinking of owning a little "maw and paw" dispensary cannabis kiosk where we grow and breed own own landrace strains as well as some outstanding hybrids. Approx how much $$ would it take to get started? Thanks for all replies !!

I'm pretty sure that you have to be a resident for 2 years prior to starting any kind of cannabis business in Colorado.

but you can trim some weed for people im sure

after a couple years, you can sink about $150k (bare min) into starting a dispensary.

or you can pay $75 for an occupational support employee license and be a trim bitch.

Need to be resident for 2 years before you can open a shop.

Other than that the money you needs depends on your business plan. Researching and writing up your business plan will give you the details you're missing. Nobody should start a business without figuring out how to write one first. Some things to think about...

How big of an operation will you have? Where will it be located and how will you secure the loan for the real estate? How much will you need for design, construction and outfitting the establishment? You need proper security and I think cameras are required in grow and shop areas. Shop can't be in certain zones, close to schools, etc. You'll need strict accounting or you'll have the FBI up your ass looking for connections to cartels. You still might. And last but not least, what would you name your store? I suggest "Maw and Paw's Marijuana Emporium".

You and everyone else in the nation! 2 years minimum residency before setting up any kind of shop!
