Most Effective Strains You Can Use For Migraines

I have found this article on the Internet that tells which Cannabis Strains are helpful for people suffering from Migraines. I hope it will beneficial for people.

If you experience migraines, you already know how excruciating the pain can be. Many patients have episodes of migraines that last for several hours. In some cases, these severe headaches can last for days, as well. People suffering from migraines tend to have about 1 to 2 attacks every month. However, some patients have to suffer the everyday, chronic presence of this pain. Such patients can get attacked by ten or more episodes per month. Here, you will read how marijuana recommendations can help you treat migraines and what are the best strains you can use.

What Triggers a Migraine?

There is not enough clarity regarding the triggers of migraines. The triggers or factors of migraines can differ from patient to patient. However, some usual triggers may include environmental conditions like certain smells, bright lights, specific foods, alcohol, stress, and poor sleep quality. Some people also get migraines due to hormonal fluctuations. Noticing your triggers can help you take the necessary precautions and try to diminish the pain before it even begins.

Why MMJ For Migraines?

There is a lack of a specific treatment for this problem. Most people try different remedies such as changing their dietary habits, spending time in a darkened room, and sitting alone quietly. Some people also resort to over-the-counter medications or prescription drugs to stop and prevent pain. This search for an effective treatment has led people to medical marijuana. Plus, there have been studies suggesting the effect of cannabis against migraines. So, you must go for a marijuana recommendation. With many use cases, experts know which strains are most effective in treating this condition. Let’s take a look at these.

Best MMJ Strains For Migraines

Here are the cannabis strains mostly leveraged to reduce the symptoms or completely diminish migraines.

ACDC

This strain is effective in controlling the symptoms of migraines without making you “high.” It contains a THC/CBD ratio of 1:20, which minimizes its psychoactive properties. On the other hand, the high concentration of CBD works on your pain and effectively reduces it.

OG Kush

You will not struggle to find this strain at your nearby dispensary. It is known for sedative properties that diminish the impact of a migraine. This one has a high concentration of THC, so you get immediate relief from the pain. At the same time, the CBD content brings long-term benefits in treating your condition. You should have this strain to consume immediately when you suspect a headache.

Pineapple Express

This one would be a delicious treat to make your migraine go away. It contains a strong THC concentration, which is about 17% that helps in the treatment of migraine-related pain and its permanent treatment.

Harlequin

In this strain, you get about 8-16 percent CBD and about 4-7 percent THC. It is one of the most balanced strains out there to control pain and have a minor sedative effect. Every time you are about to have a migraine, have a dose of harlequin to restrict the symptoms from increasing.

Northern Lights

Northern lights are considered real indica strains best-suited to induce relaxation and reduce pain. If your migraine is chronic or acute, you can use this strain to treat the symptoms.

Remedy

This indica strain provides about 15 percent concentration of CBD with only 1 percent or lesser level of THC. It creates a peaceful state and treats headaches with anti-inflammation properties.

I tailor my grows for my wife based on when I harvest. For headaches and pain, I harvest when I have 75% amber, 25% milky, this produces a more cbd type effect. Works no matter what strain I grow, and one strain doesn’t work better than the other according to her. Took me a while to get the science down, but I found the happy medium. I feel like a pharmacist because my jars are labeled based on what she needs and wants. Not to say certain strains don’t work differently for some people,

Im glad I found this post. My wife has bad migraines; but does not like smoking. I am looking into making edibles or infuse with something she may like.

This really depends. Some people say they have "migraines" when they actually just have perfectly normal headaches. Everyone has a different tolerance to pain-I know people who take advil every day of their lives because of their "migraines"-which are just cluster headaches. True migraines are related to seizure disorders. I'm an epileptic and I get a few "true" migraines per year. I get the weird aura that blurs the right half of my field of vision about 30 min before the migraine hits, and I've tried everything known to man when that happens to see if I can stave it off, or make it less bad, but nothing works. I won't even try to smoke weed when I know I'm going to have one, honestly it just makes me more miserable. BUT ALL IS NOT LOST FRIENDS. As long as I include some high CBD bud in my smoking routine (usually nightly), I've noticed a trend towards fewer migraines and seizures-since I've been tracking it, around 5 years, it has averaged just over a 50% reduction. Another thing I noticed is that regular CBD products without THC didn't have this effect, some THC is definitely needed. So medical marijuana truly does reduce the number of these that you get each year, leading to a substantial increase in quality of life.

I get real migranes... not often, but sometimes... to me it is almost like having a really bad hangover... weed does help... it doesn't get rid of it, but it can make it better. I think it has something to do with atmospheric pressure changes... that seems to be it for me at least... I've also heard something about how most migraine sufferers have a small bone in their inner nasal cavity that works almost like a built-in barometer... I don't know about all that, but it makes sense- to me at least.
a Chlortab (yellow), a Decongestant (red push), and if you need an extra boost, an Ibuprofen, seems to work really good at preventing them... if you can feel it coming on before it hits, that is. An aspirin and ginger pill help too, for nausea... with some good body melting indica edibles, is the best I've found.

Grew out 4 seeds found in some really good smoke, supposedly a pre98 bubba. Life happened and the plants got severely stressed from drought and heat. They threw nanners like crazy and seeded. Grew a few of those seeds and ended up with a very nice migraine med that has an extremely clear head but almost numbing effect on the body. Would equate it more to a muscle relaxer.

I suffer from extremely painful migraines, light sensitivity, and nauseous to the point of vomiting when the migraine hits. With out meds they can last days.

VA diagnosed migraines for what it is worth. IED blasts ×2 and a head injury that required gluing together scalp. Caused by blunt force puncture to covering on skull.

Have not tried a breeder's pre 98 bubba yet.

I have been called crazy, so take any info from me with a grain of salt.

Suffered migraines my entire life, debilitating, day ending migraines.

Never found a strain that stops them in all these years. Not smoking it not eating it.

Will look into these strains, thanks

I have heard anecdotally that shamen in Peru can treat migraines with ayahuasca and other natural medicine. Worth a shot if it is that intense. I have also heard magic mushrooms can be used to great effect for many severe recurring headaches. I know for a fact that the magic mushrooms are really really fun too. So worst outcome is you have a real good time and still get headaches.
