Can he appeal that? It kind of flies in the face of every other ruling I've seen in BC as of late. How can one man have 400+ plants and have minimal issues and this guy is going to prison? I'm wondering what his previous unrelated offense was.

We got guys in Vancouver using Tshirt presses to make hash and down the road (obviously not literally :) ) there's a guy getting arrested for trying to get by with a little help from our friend... seems backwards.

I would think he couldn't appeal because he plead guilty.

its a sad state of affairs when a 76 year old man is jailed for something that is being made LEGAL!!!!!

he'll be out buy the end of the year , if he lives that long .

6 plants plus is 6 months in jail under hitler.
I think he also was in the wrong, some people are just dumb, right or wrong, it was dumb, grow 4-6 plants and have the same 60k$ street value and he could have got it waived for personal medical uses and the lawyer would have been cheaper also!

a pensioner is trying to live a little better (they even mention he lived a modest life with no evidence of lavish drug dealing riches) growing 100 small plants.. meanwhile we got profiteers with warehouses full.
can't believe we're gonna put a 76 year old in jail.. for marijuana

would it not be easier to take The 76 year old's market away...
by completely legalizing...there will still be some who try and sell weed
but it will be valueless at first...until the free market of marihuana sales
levels out...some will open store fronts just like any other commodity,,,
and then taxes thru business's that create jobs in the private sector.....
others will grow their own at home...and participate in the free market of mmj and rec mj
when they chose.....or run out...between crops...

"must also submit a sample of his DNA to the national registry"...WHY??? he grew plants...and now he can't own guns and has to give his DNA...what do they have to do with the charge? If i get caught selling Oxy's, they don't do that to you. they're legal but selling them isn't so why the double standard?

Yup keep the 100 times stronger and worse product legal while going after the innocent MJ user. When will this ever stop. when will my anger be over.

A 76 year old guy? He is probably old school...knew he was breaking the law and when he got caught...old school guy that he is probably just fessed up because that's how he likely grew up...more naive than anything....

And i cant imaginebthey wouldnput an old man like that in jail... if they do then this country is truly gone to shit and harper needs a good back alley beating
