male or female?

ok i was wondering if there was any way to tell or at least be suspious about what plant is what, is it male or female? i have a plant tht is about 7 days old and is about 3 inches high my friends say tht if it growers really quick it could be a male is tht true?

yes and no... you have no way of knowing at this point what you're plants are, regardless of the speed they grow (or lack there of). There is however some truth in that males typically grow faster and taller so that they may increase their chances of pollinating females. Again, that is not set in stone. Of my 8 plants the biggest one WAS male, but the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th biggest were females.

the males with clearly show themselves well before their nuts begin to open up and release the chalk-power looking pollen
