If I drink isopropyl alcohol I will go blind.I really don't understand why anyone would go through all those steps to use ethanol instead of just using 91-99% ISO. It's completely clean alcohol, and evaping off the 1-9% water is very easy.
You don't have to mess with removing the denaturing ingredients or distil anything or buy molecular sieves.
And you get a very clean concentrate that is basically identical to QWET at a much lower cost....
Here is an idea.Alcohol above 151 is not legal for sale in my state and I am trying to make a tincture. UPS charges a $25 hazmat fee to ship, plus the regular shipping costs. I don't have distillation equipment and I am on a tight budget. They are 3a sieves.
Sorry your OP didn't say anything about a tincture. That would be the reason to use ethanol.Alcohol above 151 is not legal for sale in my state and I am trying to make a tincture. The concentrate will dissolve into the alcohol? This is my first attempt at this. Here is an idea.
Extract with isopropanol evaparevap then dissolve your concentrate into whatever 80 proof or even less alcohol, glycerin, or oil.
Advantage is you could accurately dose.
I evaporate with ethonol, then make tincture.View attachment 4274710
Yes, might have to give it some time, and keep shaking. The concentrate will dissolve into the alcohol? This is my first attempt at this.
Not all of us need a 5 gallon jug either ha!You guys just dont know where to look for the good stuff.
200 proof food grade ethanol
NON-denatured!! Only for my extracts.

Did you make your tincture? How did it go?View attachment 4274833
Found this on my local military base, guess the research was for naught, but still interesting.
Everything is still in the freezer waiting for me to do something with it. I have been distracted because we are adopting a new puppy and I am trying to get everything straightened up in the house so it won't get chewed on. It has been a long time since we had a pup in the house. I also harvested the clones I made this week and trimmed them up and hung them to dry. I started my tincture research because I am not happy with the diesel smell/taste of the Chemdawg I grew.Did you make your tincture? How did it go?
Funny... Don't believe they allow mail order purchase of any form of non poisoned ethanol in Washington state! You guys just dont know where to look for the good stuff.

The Everclear I picked up on base was $15, no state tax. I know the feds have to have their tax on any drinkable ethanol also.Funny... Don't believe they allow mail order purchase of any form of non poisoned ethanol in Washington state!
Really, actually a very conservative backwards state.

Even with my $600 Turbo Source extractor reclaiming most of the ethanol, I went through about 5 $24 750ml bottles of Everclear. Made roughly 40 grams of concentrate.
Would very much like a 5 gallon jug of ethanol for extraction work.
