For what it's worth, the copper/gold looking necrosis is often associated with a magnesium and/or calcium deficiency. If you see more of that come up, hit it with a little calmag and pay attention to the plants reaction.

I'd selectively trim out some inner leaf growth to improve airflow and light penetration..not a full defoliation, just a few here and there.
do you think removing leaves would stunt growth for a short period, especially as thet are autos?

cheers

do you think id be better to do a foliar feed rather than root feed as I'm growing in soil. Would foliar get to work quicker?

cheers mate

I don't as long as you don't hack away at it. I have LST'd and pruned autos..i got 9oz+ off one plant last run, i had to thin it out..looked like yours but 3 times as big. Other option rather than pruning is add fans to make sure you have plenty of airflow around the canopy.

I would trim and rem9ve.all the little scraggly bullshit on bottom to make.plant send it's power to main bud sites

I wouldn't recommend foliar feeding if they're in flower. And get your hands on a cal/mag supplement. One bottle should last you several grows.

awsone, cheers for the advice. Iv just been having a little investigation and m worried iv might have thrips or something. I found a pretty damaged leaf, I used my microscope on the underside. I cant see anything moving... But I did find what looks like a tiny tiny grain of rice. Could this be? I really don't wanna have to spray them this far into flower. I'll post a pic of the leaf. Let me know if I should be worried lol.

cheers again

wow, nice work 9oz from an auto. What strain was it and what light did you use? I think your right. I might remove a few leaves to let some more light in..

cheers

it will get taller and the buds will fill out. However most people don't recommend lst or defoliating with autos since you have such a short time to grow. Any time wasted in stress you don't get back since they are on a hard clock.
People DO recommend LST with auto's. It doesn't take the time to recover that topping does, so you can get multiple colas without stressing the auto.

And No, you didn't make a canopy that's too dense. Some of the fan leaves will end up dying eventually which will open it up.
