Yeah, I completely fucked up my Durban plants. Didn't feed them enough, then let them go too long.

Ace seeds specializes in sativa landraces. I've grown the Malawi (12 week minimum, 15 weeks latest phenotypes), very long lasting, clear headed in smaller doses, like psychedelic cup of coffee, in higher doses, it gives me anxiety attacks, and it's effects just slips away without any groggy/tiredness. Their Panama landrace is also worth trying, very much like the super silver haze from mns or the Mexican sativas offered through Nirvana about a decade ago, except lemon juice like flavor.

like nirvanas nypd from around 08-09? i wish i could find those beans again...

what I like about the african landraces is that many are not that strong, but the effects stack all day long. The more you smoke the more if fucks you. Like it has no plateau.
The high THC weeds from overseas all tend to hit hard and fast, but that's it. Smoke more and you go to bed.

I started with Nirvana's PPP which is supposed to be a Durban hybrid, and I still haven't experienced a strain that left me giggling like a 10 year old school kid, the Malawi is so much more subtle, up until I go beyond my comfort zone, then it's just scary... I grow it twice a year, and I don't need more than that, it's the perfect wake n' bake strain, never seems to build tolerance, and its effect lasts me much longer than anything else I've grown.

I've not tried the nypd before, just the sativa Mexicana and the IBL made from it, the "eldorado"' which is a roller coaster kind of high, starts out slow, and then hits unlike anything I've had since, besides this Panama and the ssh I've grown from mns. It's a shame it wasn't popular enough to stay on the market, considering it's Superior to the raspberry cough and blackberry or blackjack they offer. They use the eldorado in their "royal flush" hybrid. I was thinking that maybe i should get a few hundred seeds of those just to find that girl again, but the Panama suits my needs just fine :) ace seeds is legit.

It's most likely the THC-V in them, grow African sativas with good quality light that includes UV-B and you'll have good smoke.

Luckily I can buy it at about 50c per gram. The curing is not very good as they basically do it in 3 days. But every now and again there is an amazing piece of bud that comes along. There is lots of variation in the same strains.

I realy want to do a run of chocolope, but it is at least two weeks longer run and not a big yielder.

If it's eldorado, my advice is not to immediately cull the more subtle smelling plants, it's Nirvana; so you probably know they mix in a high yielding fruity skunk and then bx. The more subtle smelling girls had more of the Mexican sativa high, electric and upbeat, creeper weed, the more fruity/skunkyness plant occasionally made some more indica high phenos. I always try to use a pool of 40-120 seeds per strain I run, so I would up sacrificing some that weren't appealing till after they cured. You live and learn.

i don't cull anything til i have cured and smoked it. take clones of everything initially.

I'll throw my 2 cents in here, I've run a fair amount of sativa in my light dep greenhouse some Ace strains that I absolutely love, but I am assuming you are growing inside and a lot of those I've struggled to tame indoors. A great sativa hybrid however is headbanger by Karma, it has a very heady high that won't glue you to the couch yields very well but where it really shines is the terps this girl smells straight sour diesel and taste the same. Pheno I have finishes in 10 weeks, just cannot stress enough she smells if that's a concern don't even think about it.
