Lookin for feed back on gardening with sodium polyacrylate

So I got this instant sno as a gift. 1/4 tsp of sno powder expanded to a cereal bowl fulla gelly snow with a bit of water. And stayed like that for 3 days. So naturally I throw a cutting and a few rooted expendables in hempy cups with this stuff.After looking it up I saw it was actually sodium polyacrylate or waterlock,and it is also found in diapers.
I have read of people using it in soil out doors but not much about it being used indoors.
I am curious to get some feedback from folkes who have used it in there medium.
It is very cheap but im not sure if it damages plants or what not,i am all ears

In times of low moisture, would this dehydrate the roots?
