Long Term Storage of Bud 2+yr, and Leaves for ID

Why wouldn't you just do a photo catalogue to track genetics? It seems much much easier and you can have not only leaf, but full plant appearance. Also you'd be able to distinguish the characteristics passed from generation to generation and traits picked up in breeding.

I'm unclear about the relationship between curing and level of dehydration. I've cured buds well, 40 days, and they are still a bit dank. I like it that way. But I have also found that continuing the curing process dries them out. No other degradation, just drier.

My question is this: if I want to vacuum seal buds with a foodsaver device, should they be very dry going in or can they bill still dank or what? AND, does it matter if after vacuum sealing they go into dark cool storage, or to the freezer? AND speaking of cool, my idea of cool is 75 and under. That's hard to assure year round. If it might get to 80 or so, does that make freezing the better choice?

I know I'm raising a lot of questions here, sorry. ONE more - what about vacuum sealing then fridge for long term storage?

If oxidation is a concern you could try "Private Preserve" - a wine preservation spray.
Let me make this very clear: I have personally not tried this.

bump for these questions. Anyone know about this type of stuff? Im growing larger than my use at the moment, and I may very need to store long term. Thanks.

Thanks for the food saver vaccumming tip too.

When I was 18 my mom gave me a bag of weed she said she confiscated from us years before. I didn't recognize it or anything but maybe my bro bought it or my stepdad lost it. It was vaccuum sealed and in her closet somewhere I guess. That weed was incredible. I figured it would be all gross but it was so smooth, it was unreal. I don't know hw long it had cured or if it lost potency etc. but I know it can last a while in those vaccuum sealed bags.

For the leaves, pictures is the best way to preserve them IMO.
