lollipoping during flower

hey
So I'm day eleven flower and everythings looking pretty good. I'm running 9plants in a 4x4 with a 400w hps and 4 area 51 75w rws. Anyway the canops is already reaaally packed and there is barely any light coming through to the lower bud sites. I was thinking I could lollipop em but based on what I've been reading it's not good to stress the girls out during flower.... does anyone here lollipop during flower?

I take clones just before switching to 12/12. Then I wait about 10 days until the clones are rooted successfully before clearing out the underbrush. If I have to take a lot of branches off I spread it out over a few days. Not sure how much it stresses them (cause hermy balls) but anytime I do see herm balls I just search them out and pluck them off before they open.

You can take off just the lowest bud sites in some cases, leaving the branch and the bud sites highest on that branch.

I lollipop end of week 2 about day 14. Some people will say this is a terrible thing to do.. I guess you have to weigh out the positive to the negative . It is an acquired skill so don't go ape shit with it your first try, good luck

Ok, thanks for the replies. Why do you choose to lollipop during flower? I mean it does seem to make sense to stress the girls during veg if you have to stress them

I get rid of lower bud sites week 2 to get rid of the popcorn nugs and send the energy to the top. There Is no budnsites in veg. If you do it all at once they stress for a day maybe. Clean up bottom shoots you don't want in veg if you want . I leave everthing until week 2. IF it doesn't make a certain height , I yank it

I lollipop in flower. Usually around day 7. Right when I start seeing predominant bud sites. Plants do not skip a beat.

I lolipop right when I flip to flower, and then clean them up around week 2 after they stretch out a little

Aight. I'ts weird how with cannabis you'll see experienced growers swear by one thing and have other experienced growers say the opposite....I guess if you guys say it's ok I'll yank out some branches tomorrow , I mean they really aren't getting any light at all the cannopy is soo dense

Cut them off, it doesn't increase yield IMO. But it makes trimming a lot less of a pain in the ass. I know some people who grow specifically for concentrates and they do not lollipop; just thought that was interesting.
