Ladybugs

Hello good farmers...
This forum learn me a lot and really want to go organics in all aspect of life not just weed
So I want to have ladybugs and keep them in insect hotel in my house but afraid that the will fly away...
I want to constant ladybugs population that my cannabis would benefit from and I will sell them to other growers over my country...
So really no body raise ladybugs and sell them here in my country so really want to learn and do that...
So pleasr everyone who doing this give me some advice how can I start at my own house...

Shit..I must buy piece of land and have my true organic garden for veg and fruits..but cannabis stay indoors

So how can I attract and keep ladybugs at my home at balcony for now...
I see some insect hotel on amazon...
Will they stay there

So i'm thinking a warm cosy edible environment and they won't want to leave ... bed room, kitchen, sex room etc etc

I see. I thought you were just looking for cheap bugs. Hobby'ing it would be fun.
It would be interesting to see what you come up with. I'd imagine they are going to need food for them to stay, or they are going to go off looking for it and not come back.
I'm picturing a tall wood frame with window screen wrapped around it to make a bug cage. Then you can keep them there, and feed them and look after them. Maybe a germination mat for heat, if needed?

You could also make like an ecosystem for it growing grass and stuff in there

you could make a box and tubes going out to the plants, the smell might entice them out to walk along the tubes ... ants do it.

That's a great idea. They will go to where the food is though. If you make their hotel too fancy, they'll check in, but they won't check out. Think motel, with the cheap ac above the door that doesn't work.
Do you have a grow tent or open?

that's the key to keeping them alive, when you buy the sachets they put an extra secret mite in there that the pred mites eat while in transportation/delivery etc etc ... then they climb outta the sachet and go to the soils lavy etc etc



test will tell and more understanding of the bugs likes and needs etc etc

I bought a bunch of ladybugs once to put on some roses covered in aphids. A couple days later I could hardly find a single one. They had plenty of food but they still took off. Now I just spray the roses with neem oil. But I like the concept of having predators to control pests. Sure beats spraying stuff that kills not just the bad bugs but the good ones as well.

Most lady bugs are wild caught when they swarm. (I think)

I release 10s of thousands each year on a bio diverse 10 acre farm. Still most leave.

I find them to be incredibly effective on green aphids. I release them in remay row tunnels of peppers, that show signs of aphids. The remay keeps them in for a bit.
