My 6x6x6 rock wool root blocks are getting too hot and I believe it's causing me problems. They are underneath 1k's and I use a flood tables. Any suggestions on how I can keep them cool? Thanks.
Absolutely use some reflective material over the rock wool. A water chiller can be pricey, but is the best idea. A fan could help but in your case I doubt it. I would ( I have ) just fork out the cash for a chiller. How big is your table do you know the volume?
Thanks for the replies everyone. It's a 4x4 flood table and the res is kept at room temperature so around 70 degrees. I like the idea of using reflective material over the blocks. So does the water chiller just keep the res water cool? Maybe I'll utilize both.
So what happens with a chiller is you set a threshold for it to turn on, say you wunna keep it at 70 degrees or what ever. Just set the controller to the desired temp and let it go, when the temp of your water gets over your desired temp it turns on.
