Issue with furnace, possible hazard. I need quick help

Yes and no CO detectors are met to detect minimal levels of CO but that’s if you’re on top of your batteries at all times and you have them spaced and spread throughout the house properly if I were you any hole related to my furnace be it my air supply for my house which I would want to patch to have a more efficient heater and AC unit or be it a hole in your draft ducting which like I said before you would want to patch to prohibit the release of CO into your house

I’m currently driving and unable to search for those links but if you go to Lowe’s you can get a roll of sheet tin for around eight dollars that’s 12“ x 4‘ I believe get a tube of gasket maker for 275 three dollars and I imagine you have screws and a drill if it is block or concrete you’ll need to buy some tap cons which will come with a bit for the block then cut your tin to cover your whole leaving e excess tin on the side you go around your edges with the gasket maker press it firmly to the whole drill your holes put your tap cons in and let it dry

Right use some furnace cement or caulk even that chimney isn’t the type that is an issue to patch

OK I didn’t know all that information before hand sorry if that chimney has been updated and has the inner liner you have nothing at all to worry about you’re just chasing a problem now you’re making up LOL when your furnace runs light a lighter or candle and set it beside that hole if you get air movement I would Patchett if you do not then like in the above post do you have nothing to worry about because you have an inner liner that is protecting it anyway

Yeah its a chimney or something... It runs vertical, I should have took a pic from 10 feet back so you could tell its a chimney... THanks guys I will get the chimney cement, etc... Is it possible that a pipe is running inside the chimney stack?? So no C02 could get anways?? I'm gonna patch it either way.
