So supporting lanky branches (instead of trying to make them support themselves) that grew up to the light will make the bud on the branch bigger?
I started with autos but got a bag seed that's growing that's a photo plant. It's now on 12 12 but got tall and wirey. Droopy with no bud at all yet.
It's my 1st photo... so I'll learn I suppose somehow lol.
Essentially yes, i have read that this will help the buds grow larger having a support system in place.
Wether or not this is also to do with the positioning of the colas, perhaps having them spread out more evenly encouraging lower growth has a role to play in that statement.
However when i dont use a scrog net i find myself having to tie up alot of the branches come late flowering.
Bag seed man one of my biggest tips are to ensure you have the correct genetics. I would never grow bagseed, its a complete gamble.
Before i switch to a new strain i do alot of research on the strain and seedbank.
Even if i saw nice plants and offered free clones i would probably turn them down.
I want to know 100% what i am getting.

Yeah a bag seed lol. it just looked like a good specimen. Likening say it's my 1st photo so I may have veged too long. My main batch was finishing up so I just tried it. I recall the weed it was found in being good. She is Too big for me now but I'm managing so far. I'll take a pic... I was pleased she was female... then the risk was over for me really as I saw it. :-)

Yeah it totally was a gamble I just was impatient and wanted to get things moving but 3 or so weeks into flower I seen how much triches and the sourish grape smell they started to permeate I realized not to rush things along and to let them do their thing just had to stick to my game plan that less is more when it came to feeding them...with veg/bloom dirty lil bit of dry kool bloom like half recommended dosage at the peak of flowering and some unsulphered molasses was all they got...I wanted to try out shine bloom booster but didn't have enough cash for that at the time so I had to get whatever I could at the time but to my surprise that worked better than I thought lol but I definitely will take everything y'all said into consideration for my next grow a lil constructive criticism never hurt...

When you say “just completed”, is the 11 ozs fresh or dried?
Dried...didn't weigh right when they came down the smell was too much I didn't want my nosey ass neighbors complaining bout the smell and just wanted to get them in the tent drying with the filter fast as I could....thinking about getting a larger tent and just have it half way full and do all the maintenance from inside with the tent zipped back up to keep the smell at bay.

What kind of light did you veg under? If it was hps that may be why your nodes are spaced out like that man...
Dual CFLs. They do the trick but need to be no further than 12 inch away.
I didnt expect her to grow at all or be female so care wasnt really being taken while she vegged and the lights where up high finishing off the the others. She also gained a fair bit of height when I switched to 12.12.... and she's my 1st photo so I veged too long... while wanting to finish the others (autos).
Having said that... I have 2 autos under all the same conditions... one stretched one didnt... but they've flowered early too due to being in the 12 12...
It's a shame but now I know some autos will flower under 12.12. It's not all about the internal clock.

No ballasts for me... so no Sodium style set up for me. Big CFLs while collecting info and my LED collection.
