The other day I went to check on one of my guerilla plots and noticed a
broken branch laying on the ground. This plant has very heavy branches, it
was started indoors in late december, put out in march in a one gallon pot
to be sexed and then revegged. It never got any buds formed during that
time period, only showed pistils, then revegged afetr a couple weeks,
throughout the summer revegging and forming calyxes here and there the
whole time period. It is a monster and has huge branches. i started lst'ing it
as soon as I put it in the ground. Now the branches are heavy and the one that
broke I duct taped back together. It came back looking normal after the first
few days of repair.
When found broken though the branch seemed a little dried out at the last 9 inches of the tip beyond repair, but from there down the branch was just a
little wilted, so I cut the bad part off. Lastnight i checked up on it and it was
back to normal all except about 8 inches below where I sliced the previous
damaged top off. The tips of the small forming bud leaves were yellow to
brown and curled and twisted, some parts of the stem was brown and sort of
mushy so I cut the bad part off again lastnight and this time instead of leaving
the wound open I covered it air tight with duct tape. When I looked at the
buds I removed from the new damaged branch one piece just kinda easily
fell apart and was kind of brownish and had very tiny looking webbing in it.
Should I go and remove this entire branch from the plant or do you think
since I covered the wound that it will stop spreading? Or is it even sound like
bud rot or mold? Im not sure, I cant post any pics but from what descritption
I have gave, in your best opinion, what would you consider the problem be?
In advance, thanks.
