I want to start growing again.

I had some heat about a year ago and since then things are cool. I really want to grow again. No more CFL though I want to try a good ballast with 400-600 watt with dim. I have four grows under my belt and each one was 12-12 from seed. Not really yielding much is frustrating so I will VEG this time. My thing is, I only have closet space to grow. I really want to put one outside but would be locked up with the quickness if I did. I miss growing am here looking for some pep talks to get me back in it. I was only getting a qtr bag every 3 months but wasnt using my grow space fully. Its about 2 foot tall and 5ft wide cause I have clothes hanging. Do you think it will be worth growing in this space? I smoke a lot of weed like 3 lbs a year

get you a $150 Apollo or Ipower 600w cooltube kit off of ebay/amazon and a 6" inline fan and filter for around $125 from plantlightinghydroponics.com and in a 2x5 with a decent veg & some lst'ing, you should bump your harvest WAY up

How much heat did you have a year ago? If your growing in a closet I really would recommend using a LED light setup. Temperature can be a real issue in closet grows

Wasn't really heat on me but on my brother. I just didn't feel good about growing when he had just got busted with a meth lab. The police asked where I lived because my mom had to come stay with me. They wouldnt let her back in the house until we got it cleaned it was a mess. I don't like meth at all and I kept telling him to quit making that shit in moms house but he just wouldnt listen.

I think kagecog was asking about temps but yeah, probably a good time to hang up the light back then.

Edit: do you have another place for your clothes? Don't want to start any fires, + anything in the closet with your plants will reek. Don't want to stroll around in skunkware.

Nahh I was actually referring to police heat to begin with because if the police had knowledge that you once grew, I would never recommend growing again. But sounds like your fine since most of the heat was on your brother!

Yeah I was just overly cautious because I don't ever want to get busted. I am ready though in my mind I can see myself building this sweet ass grow box and watching my ladies grow!

I think the biggest thing is can you get ventilation to the growspace, getting the hot air out somehow. That will be key if you want to get away from the CFL little stuff and step up into a little better quantity yields. But you cant just shove a MH/HPS into a small closet without dissipating the heat it produces.

Buy a nice wooden entertainment center cabnet for your clothes....they are cheap in Craig's List because there not big enough for flat screens. Do a vertical grow with a 4 to 6 bulb 48" T5...put a cheap bathroom vent in the ceiling. As for the door (if your like me and don't give a crap about appearances) take it off and replace it with a tarp that allows for 4" of air passage at the bottom. I rigged up an aluminum heatsink at one end because the rising heat can shorten those Chinese made %$# bulbs.

I agree w/ lo budg about the clothes in your closet. If you cant take EVERYTHING out of your growspace, either build a false wall or get a tent. A 2x4x6 tall tent would make your efforts a little easier, its sealed. Lighthouse hydro has decent tents/prices on amazon. Tents make it easier to vent, you can hook your filter to your cooltube, running out to your fan on top of your tent, vented up through a small hole into your attic/over to a window. Lol, don't let anyone kid you, 1 - 2' plant, 4 wks in veg, will stink up your whole damn house.

*Note- Tent sizes are a little skewed, a 2'Dx4'Wx6'H wont be exact, check the actual dimensions from the companys pdf file instructions. 2' may mean 24", it may mean 30", or it may mean 22" outside dimensions.

Get everything you need, set it up, run your lights, fans, etc. if your running hydro, set it up, with water and run it. if your running soil, pot it up and water it. timers on, everything going for a week. check temps, humidity, make adjustments, dial it in and make plans for future problems (like humidity jumping up when full of plants) with solutions. Do this before you ever crack a bean. If you want real results, put some real effort into your setup, it will pay for itself in numbers. You can throw a seed in some dirt, toss it in a corner and get it to finish, but you wont improve your results. Plus, if you plan ahead, when youre up at 3am with 96deg temps bc something failed, youll have a backup plan.

Benton og, about the brother with the charge, is he still associated with the residence? If so, DO NOT grow anything there. Last thing you want is his PO showing up at 7am on a Tuesday morning to search the residence on file, yes, they can and do, and finding your babies. Lol, ask me how I know. I have a brother with the same situation! Luckily everything had just sprouted and just had water leaves, pluck, pluck, pluck while he talked at the door. and good thing bc he found the soil and setup. I had an empty pack of tomato seeds laying in the floor and it was winter time. :hump:

hey, if you wanting to do something outdoors, it to late for this year but start looking for next year. spend a few weekends walking the woods. notice your avail sunlight and go back throughout the season and recheck. you should have you a couple good spots by the fall to get ready for next spring and not be anywhere near your house. heres a great easy way to prep from "the rev" from skunk mag:

You said your area was 2 feet tall? Thats not really enough space for an hid, the reflector will take up almost half of that.

The address he got busted is totally seperate from mine I just had to let my mother come live with me for a month until we got it straight. I cant believe you are in the same situation thats crazy but cool we can relate. I am sure I am safe to grow here at my own house but I had to stop for about a year just to be sure DSS wasnt going to come by because of my mom she is disabled on medicare.

Oh okay now I am thinking of emptying my whole closet. It makes since I dont want my clothes to stink every where I go!
