I corrected my ph and now my plants are going yellow

So I found out my cheap ph meter was a peice of crap and my ph for my entire one and a half month veg was off (ph was between 4.0-4.80). So I got a better one plus a the liquid drop tests for verification and now it stays between 5.5 - 5.9 (im doing hydro). However, the plants still grew ok and were green (not dark green though) but looked just a little off in a way. So I figured after I corrected the ph (3 days ago) they would improve. Nope. There getting worse. I even improved my ventilation to where its perfect so you would thnk they'd be happy. Whats going on? Also, for a little more info, I switched to 12/12 about the same day I changed the ph but im pretty sure its not a nutrient deficiency because im using lucas formula which has a NPK of 40-40-40 so theres plenty of nitrogen.

Dude depends on what you call cheap. I paid $150 for my meter, it tests PH, PPM, and EC. Calibrated once, works fine for me. I will drop 150 on some shoes and a shirt, so thats cheap to me. What is it to you? Your NPK only matters in your main food ingredient, I add Karma, and Cal-Mag to my mix, never had nutrient burn once. PPM for veg. never over 850, ppm for flowering never over 1250-1300. Yea and 40-40-40 is high as hell

Ive never had nute burn either. Read up on lucas formula (general hydroponics). And congratulations, im glad $150 is cheap to you (i like the random vanity). When I say cheap, I mean relative to the price of better, more expensive ph pens. Like if someone buys a brand new ferrari for 40K people would say wow thats cheap. But im getting off the point. My old ph pen was $10, now I have one that cost $140. And I really dont think its the nutes. Do you think it can have anything to do with shock from swinging the ph?
