How many tops? and red vs blue spectrum

my plant is a hybrid. it has been growing for a total of 6 weeks. this is the fastest growing plant ive ever grown. its in a 3 gallon pot. using foxfarms liquid nutes. at this point im trying to cut off some tops and lower foliage but im not sure what to cut. my logic is that less tops equal fatter buds on the remaining. i dont know if this is true. i will be cutting some tops because of space but dont want to cut too many.

also, ive been using a mixed spectrum for this grow. i have noticed a huge difference in the root development. the roots grow noticeably every hour. does the red spectrum in veg help root development? would blue do something similar in flowering?

Well, Blue spectrum is mainly for the veg and Red for flowering, and I think you know that since you asked what role would they play if reversed?
If thats the question your plant would still grow the way it does but not to an optimum level you can try.
If its mixes it wouldnt be a problem but the required spectrum should overtake the secondary spectrum for some good results.
For example,
In flowering, It is recommended to have more lights of similar watts of red to the blue, so that could be 2 reds to 1 blue or 3:1 or 4:2 in case of CFL, bulbs, if HPS, You could have supporting CFLs hanging around the plants budsites where light penetration is less.
Even outdoors during the 12/12 flowering period eventhough red is prelevant blue spectrum is also present.
No harm in a mixed spectrum.

And regarding topping its cutting of the top node that you should be looking to cut at.
And FIMming is also Possible according to some growers. The pic illustrates it.

FIMing or fimming, short for "fuck I missed"ing,is a trimming tecnique that is similar to topping, but results in a split to four branches rather than two. The technique requires that a cut be made at a very specific point in the new growth at the top of a plant.




While some growers follow the topping with an LST as well to make it more bushier and to
penetrate light to buds that are developing in a simultaneous manner.

honestly, i top/fimm them over and over. one branch grew way more then the others? cut it. shits too tall? cut it. i cut it and veg it over and over til its a mess of branches going every which way, then flower it.
