Homemade calmag supplement for RO water.

Hey organifolk, i was wondering if there's a way to make a calmag supplement for my RO without using nitrates -- using calcium carbonate, magnesium carbonate, magnesium sulfate or gypsum. I know the Epsom salt is soluble but I'm not sure if I'd run into problems w/ the powders. There's no sense in paying 20 dollars for a quart of 6% calmag if I can pay 10 bucks for 5 lbs of something like calcium carbonate. Any advice is appreciated.

Well, I know how to make home made calcium that's water soluble, but not CAL MAG.

Recipe is as follows

Rice vinegar 1quart
Dried egg shells, couple handfulls

Mix it, and instantly u will notice a chemical reaction. The calcium will become available/useable once the bubbling stops . Two three days.

Interesting, I will read into it and thanks for the info. I'm still getting the hang of all this organic stuff.

I wouldn't worry about cal mag in your water as long as your soil has a good mix of calcium. Look into a healthy soil mix with proper amounts of meals and rock dust.

Thanks man, ya I've been doing a lot of research into some good soil mixes and I plan on mixing my own for my next run. The calmag was to finish the batch I have in flower right now using promix with an EJ, guano, EWC, alfalfa meal, CaMg+ cocktail. I like the 0-0-0 of the CaMg+ and so I was trying to replicate it. The egg shell thing seems promising. Thanks again.

if you think you have a calmag def, try a BSM tea.
has all of that plus a nice amount of potassium
