CFL's burn out, sometimes early, and sometimes you get a dud. Let the bulb sit for a bit (1/2 hour), then plug it into a socket that you has power. Self-contained or external ballast?

infant failure of bulb. Can you return it?
yeah seems that i can return it. I got it just yesterday worked for 2 hours the timer turned it off then in the morning it didnt turn on i switched out and put my old light on the reflector and it worked i just dont know why the bulb burned can it be because i was using the brinks analog timer???? i have a feeling it might have been from the timer but i dont know. the refllector isworking fine now with my 105 actual watt cfl but man that 250 sure was nice now i have to send it back and wait for another the bulb is 120 volt 60 HZ so i dont think that the timer was the problem but idk

it is self contained i think it is the mogul base type of bulb the reflector has the plug and play
