Hello experienced growers i have a question

It has been getting hot in the day and my tent been getting hot. My plants are currently in 7 days flower. I was talking to another member about how before flower some growers leave there plants in 48 hours of darkness. I wanted to switch my light use to night to keep my temperature down for the lights on period and turn them off during the day so my plants get the cool air they need during lights off.

Now i was told i can turn the light off for 24 hours then start them back at night

Will this 24 hour dark period mess my plants up since they been in 12 12 for 7 days

I would use a form of night interruption. 12 hours into your 24 hour cycle, turn your lights on for 1 hour and then back off again. Then start your new cycle 12 hours after the lights go off.

Most likely to cause a herm by stressing it out over a long period of time like that noob suggested. 24 hours dark and getting it to the time you want them on doesnt stress them at all.

Well now i now know how to fix this minor issue thank you for the advise. I dread a hermaphrodite especially since im growing for my own personal use i can't risk hermaphrodite with 2-3 plants

24 hours of darkness will create stress. They never evolved under 24 hours of darkness. It may not do as much stress as what the other user suggested, but it will stress them none the less. Plants need light to create sugar, and without it they have to survive on their stored energy, much how human bodies if not fed will start to use our fat reserves.

One set of extra hours doesnt harm the plant at all. Please dont try to draw some comparison to humans and other nonsense..

It's one set of darkness dont be dramatic

Try giving her a gift that wont make her cry next time. Those are pathetic. If you try to use a photo to make a point use a good one atleast so you dont look retarded. And throwing out things like "son" or "boy" is laughable, doesnt make you impressive, it's the opposite. Probably why you had to make a new account
