lol sounds good to me...the main thing i suggest is check the stems because even though buds may appear dry on the outside..if they are big buds there is a good chance that they is still moisture on the inside..when they stems almost break when you bend them then they are done drying...it could be in 5 days or 10...every situation is diff...but no hard feelings Natrone...we both have our opinions and in this situation cant agree...but anyway its all in concern for the best buds for Mystery...which I hope they are...as far as jars you can get them pretty much at any grocery store, walmart, ect...bigesst thing again is dont get slack on opening the jars dailey..even on week 2 or 3 of curing..because if the moisture from the plants can't go no where then mold will form and ruin part or all of you buds in that jar..
I believe that to the tee... Right now my buds are still spongy and somewhat soft when i squeeze them.. I have huge colas then little popcorn buds all hanging on the hangars so im going to have to check the stems.
I've also considered putting them into paperbags for a couple days before they go into the jars so they can be even smoother..

yeah the drying and curing stage is what makes your bud good, better, or best when it comes to quality...and every bud is different is size..it's basic physics..smaller buds=less drying time, bigger buds=more drying time...but man I hope they all turn out well...I personally have never used paper bags only cause I have a slew of canning jars...but i read that works well...some buds from my outdoor grow of Original Thai Haze x Skunk # 1, awesome strain btw, where thicker so put them in an area in a basement where my furnace is and they overdried way to fast..thought I ruined them..basically cause we just started using the furnace for winter and i didnt even think about the buds getting to hot in that area..but they did...i mean they were brittle and would have been saw dust if I let them go any longer..but when i put them straight to curing man they softened right up and ended up some excellent smoke..lots of resin and sweet flavor..so even if you make some mistakes there is a lil room for error..its only mold that will completely overtake your bud and completely ruin them..and i have noticed that mold likes to form first on the stems if they are still to moist..good sign of underdried buds..

you gotta love how polite people are on here...if he had taken time to read the rest he would have noticed I had said the best way to know if your bud is dry enough is to check the stems..and yes I have had bud that took more than a week, almost two to dry...even if it does feel over dried once you place it in the curing phase it will soften right back up...anyway i do not claim to be a know it all person, but when someone is asking for advice I try to give it to them...not try to come down on someone else advice in a rude way...but that only show's one maturity level and ability to converse properly in this world ..so thumbs up to you Natrone for being such a "smart guy"..

It won't "soften" back up my friend. If you were to air dry your buds to the point where they're crispy dry??! Curing them isn't going to do you any good my friend. Once they have been air dried to the point where they're crispy to the touch, or fall apart when touched.. its too late. Why? Because all the moisture is gone. Buds actually need a little moisture to cure properly. ;)

just trying to help.

peace.

i dried my plant (1oz dry) for 6 days... wow i was pissed when i thought it would "soften" back up... it didnt and i was left with some dry ass weed... thank god it was dense or i would of really had some shitty burning weed.. the next plants i air dried for 3 days and it was perfect..

Not to add fuel to the fire but I just had my first harvest. I hung the plants whole upside down. One plant I let hang 12 days. It got pretty dry. I thought I let it go too long. It softened back up after 3-4 days in the jars. The other 2 I only let hang for 7 days. Trying to avoid (what I thought was) the overdry problem of the first. These two I had to leaves the jars open for a couple more days or I was starting to get mold. The longer drying time ended up working better for me. So I guess if you chop the plant up to dry 3-5 days would be right. But if you hang the whole plant you going to need a week atleast. Either way I always thought the slower the dry & cure the better the end product? You waited all these months. Why rush the end?

I always wonder if people realize they're uploading fuzzy images. I mean, what are we supposed to look at if nothing is in focus?

humidity plays a huge role, density too, if your growing some fluffy weed then yes 3-6 should be good but if you grew some kush and had like 5-6 Oz and air dry while its bad weather or raining you will get mold. I dried my kush for 5 days than cure and humidity was high at the time so i caught mold and lost everything.
