H202 or no h202 on regular basis

overall costs per crop. In my case the old KISS saying (keep it simple stupid) seems to come inot play, at least with the strain I am cuurrently working with.

NOT SURE WHAT HAPPEND TO THE REST OF MY POST, BUT THE BASIC QUESTIONS HAD TO DO WITH USING H202 ON A REGULAR BASIS. I USED RECENTLY TO CLEAR UP A ROOT ROT PROBLEM, AND IT WORKED GREAT. WAS TOLD I COULD HAVE SOME NEGATIVE EFFECT FROM USING ALL THE TIME AND WAS LOOKING FOR OPINIONS

I've never owned or used it or been given reason to even spare a second to think about it. Don't see any reason to change that either.

I think my original post may have gotten to long and lost somehow, but I had a root rot problem, which I was able to clear up by trimming off nastiness and leeching for 4 days with fresh water, h202, and hygrazyme. I now have fast growing clean white roots 10 days later, but after leeching, I backed off to regular (from aggressive) mix of nutes, and also stopped using all the other "recommended" supplements on the General Hydroponics chart. My thoughts were more is not always better, and I have recieved conflictling opinions about using the h202 on a regular basis. i know one grower who is very successful and he uses it ALL THE TIME, after having root rot problems some time back.

How ironic I am having the same exact problem as you. Except, the hygozyme made it come back a day later so I had to do it again and it's been a little over a week and there's all kinds of new white root growth now. I'm going to be picking up h202 and using it every now and then

I am actually using medical grade from the drug store. Considerably cheaper than the H202 product (food grade) available at the hydro stores. I think the pint at the hydro store was $13, and I bought quart of regular hydrogen peroxide at K-mart for $1. My understaning is that it is stronger and you need to be careful not to over do it. I have been adding 5ml/gal every three days. I just used the hygrazyme for my initial leeching for 4 days, and did NOT use as much as recommended. This certainly stands them up noticably.

Thanks for the tip. I'm gunna start adding some h202, hopefully mine will come back soon. I have many pictures included of my problem in this thread:

H202 is excellent in a hydroponic grow, period. The only trouble is it kills the beneficial bacteria in soil, but you can always reinoculate the population with a tea.

Ive been hearing alot about H2O2, Im growing in Coco, so I suppose it could help me out considerably with providing oxygen to the roots. I just cant seem to find a good figure on how much I should be using. Is there an ideal % of H2O2?

I see varied opinions, but I know from my own experience it took care of the root rot like right now. I found a link online that I used as a guide that said 5-10ml per gallon (when using 3% from the drugstore) in your resv. I been using 5 per gal. I would start off on the low side

Yeah use a small amount like that, and remember it decomposes rapidly in the presence of catalytic compounds/minerals. So, it wont be in that reservoir forever, hence the ability to add a tea a couple days later to throw the good beneficial bacteria back into the mix. I think it's a great, cheap way to maintain a healthy root mass. Why? The oxygen:

"Hydrogen peroxide is most commonly available as a solution in water. For consumers, it is usually available from pharmacies at 3 and 6 wt% concentrations. The concentrations are sometimes described in terms of the volume of oxygen gas generated; one milliliter of a 20-volume solution generates twenty milliliters of oxygen gas when completely decomposed."
