If God’s Gift is really an OG x GDP, there are plenty of those around. Purple Punch is one. CSI works with the purples (Urkle and Mendo Purp which IMO are superior to GDP) and has some interesting crosses with them. His TK x Urkle fem cross is supposed to have some amazing stuff in it.

I have only grown Urkle crosses and never bothered with any Mendo Purps. What is your reasoning on it being better than GDP? Vigor? Smell? Yield? Taste? Thanks for opinion.

No Big Bud in it. I haven’t grown either, just judging from the smoke, probably should’ve added that caveat. I’m also really not a fan of Purple Punch.

GDP is Urkle x BigBud. Medo Purp probably has Urkle in it as well. No one really knows the history on it. GDP is a heck of a strain and > Mendo Purps IMHO. This is a well done GDP by The_Nug_Whisperer.

I used to think gdp was the best stuff around, back in 2008 I'd get 1lb shipments from Cali, usually sinsemilla. I've grown enough purple strains of similiar lineage, my conclusion is There's easily better to be found with some patience. I've grown Ace seeds Pakistan chitral kush(dark purple kush Landrace) and it wasn't potent enough, neither was TH-Seeds "tha purps", I had great success with TGA's Querkle hybrids- Deep purple(urkel x Querkle), qrazy train, Cheese quake, also gage green seed's mendo mantage and grape stomper(these are sold out though :/ )

I grew PCK back before it was popular and got rid of it because I hated the low yield and horrible leaf structure. Trimming it was a real pain. I did have a nice black cherry pheno but I kicked it out of my garden. That was back in 2006-2007. Dutchgrown made it popular when she used it to make her Magenta strain.

was it from Ace seeds? The parents people use do in fact differ in grow patterns, and Ace seeds' version I grew a bit over 30 seeds from, the potency wasn't as strong as I'd want from something so narcotic. It was 'relax and sleep ' bud. I can findich better sleep meds or relaxation meds for a similar price. It yielded ok, and it grew well, tight nodes, slightly longer than usual veg period. The worst thing most purple lines (grandaddy purple included) is longer veg times, urkel is notoriously slow in veg. Quality matters utmost, so as long as you know the veg times are long, if your have the space, it's definitely worth the effort to invest in more responsibility due to the end results. Gdp was bred with a commercial yielding variety to counteract the shortcomings of urke, and many can produce higher quality due to the parantage. When I got gdp, I did expect the grower/growers to have used the best pheno he/she could, but more often than not, growers sell a variety that can produce more of the bud to produce the income they prefer, and GDP is no different. Take the urkle, mix it with a high Crop variety like big bud. IMO, bug bud, critical, and the other annoying commercial cash crops will die a slow death, thanks to legalization. Let quality reign supreme.

Yeah I just ran a single pack from Ace back when he was at SeedBoutique before the crap hit the fan over there. I hear you on the slow veg time, it's one of the reasons I stopped playing with Bog's genetics as well back in the day.
