Fox farm vs canna coco

I've been doin alot of research lately on which one if these would be the best for growing. I know it all boils down to preference but there is always room for commentary. In everyones opinion which one do you believe will produce more quality and higher yield? Thanks.

first off im a nood so take this advice with a grain of salt.

it depends how much you wanna use nutrients and how much control you want. if you wanna kick back and watch it grow, get the fox farms cuz its has enough food in it for the first month. but if you think its fun and interesting to mix nutes and water a lot, get the coco. i have done both and i like Canna coco better.

i burned the hell out of my plant in ocean forest and my ph was messed up and i couldnt get it straightened out. that plant didnt end up finishing.

im in the coco right now and its sooo easy. but if you get Canna brand coco, you gotta get the canna brand nutrients. trust me, i tried using my leftover FF nutrients and it fucked up the plant. i havent had any problems since i got the canna brand.

the two are very different. coco is hydro so you have to water with nutrients every time. FF is soil so you use less nutrients. i think coco is more controllable but thats my opinion.

i hope this helps. here are the two threads where i learned all about coco. i suggest reading through them very thoroughly. jberry really knows his stuff and is happy to answer any questions you have.

good luck!

rockstar's right, you can't go wrong with either as long as you do it right. i know that you're "not supposed to" but i have actually mixed fox farm ocean forest, light warrior and canna coco together at about a 3/1/1 ratio(soil/light warrior/coco) and had outstanding results. it's been some of the best "soil" i've ever used, super-light and airy yet retains water very well. i can really cut down the amount of perlite is use because the coco is good at holding water and nutes and making them available for the plants. i think a big key is using all organic nutes because the coco helps to buffer the ph thus eliminating the myriad of ph and nutrient lockout problems that many growers face. fox farm's soils are all organic but of all their liquid ferts, only big bloom is all organic. i ran supertea and budswel from the guano company, r/o filtered water, and purple maxx and gravity near the end, and the plants absolutely loved it! pulled almost 11 oz dry off 3 plants of s.a.g.e. and had the healthiest looking plants i'd ever grown.

cross my heart, hope to die...

pix or it didnt happen....hahaha JKJKJKJK! im not a douchebag

as i understand it, mixing soils is perfectly fine. i've read about ppl mixing ocean forrest and light warrior to make it less "hot" a few times. and coco can be used as a perlite substitute. i'd say your healthy plants are proof enough that theres nothing wrong with it.

grow chemically if u want fast growing plants that produce high yields..if u want a slow growing plant that has a average yield grow organically..i use 2/3 FoxFarm soil and 1/3 pure coco with Advanced Nutrients

If you use FF soil, how long before its okay to introduce some nutes, like lets say a dyna-grow grow/bloom? Any opinions would be great! thanks

Never grown coco, but have NEVER been disappointed or let down by Ocean Forest. 13 zips off 4 plants with the FF trio nutes and a month and a half veg my first time around. Chemically grown or organically is not going to make a difference in yield. One is not faster than the other.
