First attempt at growing

Hello guys, new to the site and growing.

I'm growing on a budget, so I don't have any fancy gear. I built my own 3x2x5 foot box, installed 6 23 watt CFL bulbs @ 6500k for vegetation stage. I don't have a carbon filter setup yet, I just have an open intake, with air being exhausted with a 6" fan attached to duct which exists the box at the top. I also have a small oscillating fan throwing air towards the seedlings to give a breeze on them, which I hear will strengthen them? Also to keep some air flow in the box.

The temps with lights on, have been 29 deg, with RH levels @ 30? I thought this was a little low, so for the time being I have a warm mist humidifier in there but I haven't seen a great big difference in RH.

The seedlings are in an organic potting mix, which was peat moss, perlite and I've added a spoonful of dolomite lime. The soil seems quite alkaline @8, so I probably shouldn't have added the DL or maybe I added too much? I'm going to transplant into promix HP in another week or two so hopefully this won't be an issue?

Recently picked up pH down, and have been feeding plants with water pH'd to 6.5, but I didn't want to overwater so I haven't been able to check the run-off as I've never watered enough to have run off. Maybe I should be? I don't know.

The light schedule I have right now, is 18/6 and have made sure to have the darkness period start around 10 when the room is completely dark.

The last few days, I haven't seen much stretch in the plants but I have noticed that they are getting a second set of fan leaves? So maybe I am going in the right direction. Noticed on one plant, the cotyledons have curled under and turning a bit brownish? Don't know if this is anything to worry about.

Anyhow, if some end up reading this and responding I am sure to have questions for you guys! haha

I'll add a few pics of the seedlings, to see if you guys think they are in a healthy state.

I put the seed directly in soil a week from today. The seed sprouted approx 3 days later, and this is where the growth is now after about 4-5 days?

If you guys have any suggestions, or recommendations on where I should go from here .. Please do! Seedling-BD.jpgSeedling-BB.jpg

Cheers

Greetings.

They look good to me. Good job, Light fuels growth.
And
Just remember that over-loving kills plants.

Good luck.

Hey thanks man! I'm doing my very best not over do it with kindness, as I know that can lead to issues.

Thinking about going with GH Flora-Series for my nutrients? Would this be an okay mix with promix HP? How long should should I keep them nute free, or would you start them as soon as transplant happens?

Would 1/4 or 1/2 strength be wise to start out with until I see how the plants react to it?

I've given nutes at 2 weeks at 1/4 and watch how it responds, then go from there.
