EDIT- im going to be making a 6x6x7 room. 2x4frame plywood outside(painted with anti termite seal), and something fungal resistant on the inside. Would a 6inch inline fan + 6inch exhaust +6inch carbon filter be enough for a 600-1000watt MH/HPS?

Also is there a way to make the exhaust sound low key? Its in my garage and I don't want anyone outside the garage to hear it.
Im using a 600watt cooltube, so idk if theres a way to mount the exhaust on the inside sending it through about 2-3feet of duct before it gets pushed through the carbon filter?

Im going to build a 6x7x6½ room. Had a couple of questions lets see if you can help me out.

Would a 400watt MH be enough for 3x3 and 600watt HPS to effectively cover 3x4 with hand watering room or should I make the room bigger?

What kind of ventilation will I need for a room that big?
Is there any cooling systems out there that will cover two rooms?

Should I insulate it or just build a wood frame and cover it with mylar?
What temp is best for veg/flower?

What materials best to seal the mylar on the wood to make it air proof and light leak free?
Also does anyone have any zippers made for plastic?
Cheers Marlboro, exciting to build a new room :) I'm assuming that you want a veg area 3x3 for the 400mh and a flower area 3x4 for the 600w.
A view things to consider for you:
1. I think the 600 w should get a 4x4 footprint underneath.
If you are planning to scrog or would like to be able to prune and work otherwise around your canopy then you will need to add about 18" on at least 2 sides. You will not regret it :)
2. The ventilation requirements will depend on if you are planning to seal (cge) or vent the room. This decision should be based on your climate zone. I for example live near the dessert, I constantly deal with high temps (90f-105f) & low humidity, for me, if I want to grow consistent crops year around I had to take the plunge into a cge environment (sealed). Having said that, I still installed me a basic ventilation option, passive intake with an active exhaust. You never know when you run out of co2 or your ac might break down, it is good to have a ventilation option.
Here is a decent article on cge growing:
http://www.cannabisculture.com/articles/3368.html
A 6" extraction fan would be sufficient for your space, but since you have 2 rooms you would most likely want 2x 4" inline fans. Guidelines are 30 air exchanges in an hour. A lot of this will depend on if you use ac or not.
Cooling 2 rooms with different temperature requirements will require a mini split AC system with 2 evaporators. That is the right way of doing this, the cheaper way in the short run is to use 2 window units, one for each space. They can vent into a garage or bigger room surrounding the grow room, but that room HAS to have ventilation in order to deal with the heat build up from the ac units.
3. Insulation is a MUST for any serious grow room. I have R-30in my ceiling and r-20 in my walls.
4. Screw the Mylar, buy cheap 3/8 drywall and paint it whith with a non toxic water base paint. For sealing use water based caulk.
All these things have to be adjusted for your personal growing style, but the basics remain the same.

Good luck,
Kind

How much square feet of canopy will a 600watt cover? Also how many inches can it penetrate the canopy?
Ill probably add that 18inches to the max coverage area for my working space. Also, if I had two carbon filters attached to the cooltube bulbs(two 600watts) would I need any other exhaust vents?

What do I use over my intake fan to cover lights and insects from crawling inside my grow? Also how much will an intake fan(instead of passive) affect the co2 ppm in my room? Im probably going to be putting a couple homemade co2 two liters in there and I don't want their co2 to be pushed out before it gets absorbed by the plant.

Would two rotating fans +6" intake+6"outtake be enough to lower the heat? (with 600watt cooltube 6 inch exhaust)It probably gets 90-95 inside my garage without insulation. If not what would you rec for a 6x6x7 grow area? Window ac would require me cutting a hole in the wall.

Honestly, with ambient temps above 90f, you need to seriously consider a sealed room with ac. You will constantly be chasing your tail otherwise. At a minimum the flower room needs to be air conditioned and isolated from the remaining grow.
That means you will need the following for the flower room:
BTW, a 600hps will cover a 4x4 foot print, canopy penetration will depend on light distance from canopy as well as leaf thickness of the strain you are growing.
1. AC: window unit will do 5000btu (ass end can be in the surrounding room, but surrounding room needs to be vented, so you will not have to cut the hole you are talking about ;)
2. Dehumidifier (a must in a sealed room)
3. Small humidifier (early veg)
4. Completely sealed hood
5. isolated 6" exhaust fan for light (intake and exhaust for this needs to be isolated from grow space, no leaks in ducting or hood otherwise its bye bye co2)
6. co2 tank
7. co2 controller
8. Air filtration
9. 6" basic ventilation (back up)

I think basically you need to make up your mind on which route you want to go ;)

Here are some pics of my grow space, it will give you an idea of what is involved with a sealed room.
