Dumping hydro rez into potted coco pots. Yay or nay

running 1/2 of a room with hydroponics and the other 1/2 potted in coco. The reservoir is dumped every 2 weeks.
My question is can the used rez water be used in the potted plants for feeding without any ill effects???

I'll say this.

#1: Why are you dumping the res?
#2: If you answer #1 correctly then the answer to your question would be............Hmmmmm............NO!
Why would you put used, low concentrate, possibly salty, and full of impure, low Oxy water on your nice hungry/thirsty plants in coco that store salts more then other medias!

Look at it this way. You wash your dish's, are you going to save this water and wash your dish's in it again? How about drink it?

I do not intend to be/sound like a dick!
I simply wanted to make a point that is easy to understand for everyone.;-)

If you mix your Rez with the right amount of water after a week it should be almost empty and then just clean and refill

Ok , is your lawn green without fertilizing ? I have actually done, and still do at times, what your asking. All I ever do is add half the nutes that are normally called for and I have never had any problems. Just try it out on some of the bitches and see for your self. You won't have a problem. I don't know why some folks insist that they make it into a rocket science of sorts. Weed is weed. Throw one away out back in the forty and few weeks later you"ll find it alive and kicking. Where I live, its cold year round and nights are screwed up as far as the hours go, so we have to grow inside and conserving on water. Good luck man...peace

yes snowman, I was thinking along the lines of conservation and efficiency. Hey Doc, I am Running an ebb and flow with a 30 gallon rez. purpsdro420, I usually fill about 20 gallons or so and after 2 weeks maybe 3 gallons are used and the rest is dumped to waste. I will fill the rez half way on the next fill er up. thanx . Using american hydroponics 3x3 econo tray and rez.
