Dopey's cfl closet grow fall 2011

Man, time is goin by quick. Already on day 7 of flowering and day 7 under HID. That HPS has mad an unbelievable difference in the last week. These things are almost at waist height. Hehe. I'm kinda hopin they stop growing and start budding because i only built my box 4 feet high. Lucky i didnt build a top lol. Some of them are a little spindly because of the lockout i had a couple weeks ago, but they will recover i think. I'm gonna get a fan in there blowing them all pretty quick here too, that should help strengthen them up a bit. Clones are coming along ok i think. Im lucky i didnt lose them. They still look pretty wilted but the tops are definitely alive and growing. Its just the bottom 2 leaves that are dying and dead. I've seen healthier clones for sure but i think they are going to make it. I gave them their first nutes today. I know your not supposed to give nutes to young plants like that, but the soil i have has no nutes at all in it and plants need something to survive. I only gave 1/4 strength tho so, should be fine. I'm hoping thats what they need since they are gonna be starting their veg cycle pretty quick. Te carbon pre filter I put over my fan actually seems to be helping a bit. I think i'm still gonna need something better when i actually start getting some buds on there. Probably gonna try that zen walmart one. that looks pretty cool and already got everything to make it except the pencil cups and pantyhose. Still dont understand why they make carbon filters a cylinder but i think it scrubs more air efficiently. i mean it makes sense kinda right? I started using bloom nutes on wednesday and gonna continue to water when i think is good and not when the hydro guy says. Lol, i'm never gonna let that go. That guy is supposed to be a pro. My watering schedule seems to keep the plants healthier anyway. This soil is full of perlite and holds the moisture quite well. and on the watering schedule he gave me i get mega acidic soil and major lockouts. We'll see what happens with the bloom nutes

Well today is week 2 and things are starting to look good. Starting to get some bud growth now, and finally i think its starting to look like they might not get much bigger., thank god. When i first put them into flower under that hps i was starting to get worried when they just exploded with growth. I just bought my ballast 2 weeks ago and i brought my buddy into the grow store for a look around. He was a grow store virgin. hehe. I remember my first time going in there. I was in heaven. even still. Anyway they had a sale on for a reflector, a 600w digi ballast with mogul and bulb for only 199. I payed more than that for my 400w setup and i didnt get a hood. What a bastard lol. Anyway i did get some other new toys, and i'm probably gonna get his hood too, because i forgot to mention that when he got home and opened the box the guy accidentally gave him a 1000w ballast, so hes gonna go out and buy a 1000w bulb and i am going to give him my mogul for his hood. Sounds like a sweet deal to me. I also bought a trucheon and a nutradip ph tester. I dont really think i needed it tho, because when i mix my nutes all together i get a ppm of between 900-1000 and ph of 6.5. Perfect...for now i guess, might change, we'll see. I also setup some ventilation w/o a carbon filter and put on some wall using some insulation i got from work. the piece on top isnt going there i just put it there to keep it out of the way. I might still put some plywood on the walls to make it look a little norma if ever the lanlord wants to come in or something. not sure what i would tell hime what it is but its none of his business anyway. Its only his business if he knows there are plants in there, other than that hes not allowed to go thru my stuff. Maybe its a storage box. hehe. Oh i also got a additive called ton o bud im gonna try then in week 4 im gonna try the heavies. Everything seems to going well now so feeding should be ok regularly now. One of the plant isnt taking water and seems to look like it has deficiencies, i'm thinking maye it has enough water and not enough food?? i havnt fed that one for a while because i was trying to give it a good flush because i overfed a while ago. Guys in the hydro store. After i went in there and bought my light setup, i brought my buddy in there and he bought a 1000w light setup. Now it seems everytime i go in there we get a freebie if we harass them just a little bit and tell them how cheap we are when they tell us a price. Heh. You just gotta spend some time in there bullshitting with the guys there. They gave me a nutradip ph pen last weekend too

Man time is flying by. Its already week three, and i cant believe it. The buds are gettin nice and juicy and starting to even get a little bit frosty. I couldn't have gotten All those additives and nutes at a better time lol. The one sick plant seems to have recovered, as it also has some nice bud production and seems to be taking water almost as fast as the others now. Also it seems to be taking nutes without any kind of negative effects. Its been so much easiar to not overnute or get any lockouts since i have had my ph pen and ppm stick. Helps alot, even when i am just giving normal water because i need to bring the ph of my water down a bit. Since i have been doing that, the plants have been thriving. The canopy is sooo thick, i kinda worry about some of the lower bud production. They are definitely starting to get pretty smelly, i'm kinda thinkin abiout getting a carbon filter or at least building one, but im not sure im to worried about it. They dont smell to much at the other side of the vent. It smells killer when i am inside my box or put my nose right in front of the other side of my exhaust. But when i go outside o let the dogs out i can barely smell it. Sometimes i cant even smell it, like when its windy outside. I wonder when they start to get really stinky, if they do at all. I have one lone clone that survived out of the 4. While i didnt get a great sucess rate, i learned alot about cloning in he process. My original plan to let them all veg out and take clones off each one and then flower them again isnt gonna happen lol. I've decided to grow this one out as a mother and take some good clones off of it and go from there. I figure by that time anyway it should be getting close to outdoor season, and i can take 40 or 50 cuttings and put them outside. This year as a summer indoor grow, i'm gonna do a real garden with regular plants, and throw 3 or 4 jut little pot plants in there as well, just because we live in an apartment and we have no space outside for any kind of garden. Its gonna be an urban garden basically. My gf wants to grow some stuff to and shes not very interested in growing pot lol.

Well, this week has been straight bullshit. The landlord gave me notice that he wanted to do an inspection on Thursday. WTF. I had to bag my plants and take them to my buddies house, who luckily just was finishing building his bloom box. So I did that and came home and ripped everything apart and put it in the closet all in a neat pile with Christmas decorations and what not piled on top. The next day when he was supposed to come i was sleeping on the couch and so he just knocked and never came in. So now, I've ripped apart everything and stressed my plants by moving them ( its around -2 outside, but they were in garbage bags). So i go now to my buddies to go get my plants and they have been there for only 3 days and they seem to be doing semi alright, other than some quite yellowing leaves. I'm pretty sure this is normal at this stage of flowering. So i pull one out to bag it up and the one behind it is soooo wilted! I felt the soil and it was bone dry. Like sooo bone dry it was like concrete almost. I couldn't believe it! He told me he never really thought about watering. This guy wants to grow dope. Its like he thinks it just grows itself. Needles to say, i wont be bringing them back there again. So now after i have them bagged up i take 2 outside and put them in my truck and go back inside to get the others and i go into the room and his door for his cab fell off and was sitting on one of my plants! FFS! I quickly went and opened her up and like 5 of the branches were snapped. I was devastated lol. I got some duct tape and kinda made like casts to hold them up straight. They weren't really broken, more like super cropped. Is it ok to super crop 4 weeks into flower? On smallish one did break tho and we decided to try and make it a clone. lol. its a little clone with a top bud already. Its probably gonna fuck it up putting it back into veg cycle. On a positive note, with having to take down my cab, i bought a 6" inline duct fan (250 cfm) and some dryer duct and set up a better ventilation system. It doesn't smell at all in the bedroom now when i go in there except when i open the door to the cab. Also i re-organized the bedroom so that this big weird looking box doesn't look to conspicuous. It still looks a little weird but not so much like i shoved everything aside, but more like its kinda supposed to be there. I'm gonna have to figure out something tho for January when the landlord comes back for inspection, because i don't want to go thru all that again.

yeah a little yellowing is natural during the later stages of flowering its usually down to needing a little N.... but its nothing to worry about

breaks dont seem to bad .... a little bruising and battering wont hurt her ....and if it snaps off it will send its goodness elsewhere

Merry Christmas! Almost forgot we were at week 5 yesterday. Things are starting to look juicy. The plant that was damaged seems to have recovered ok. It doesnt have the same size buds as the others but i think i'll still get a decent yield. It almost seems as tho 2 of the plants is a different strain because they look totally different. I just cant tell because it just happens to be those to plants that have had the most stress throughout their lives. They are pretty stinky outside at the other end of my exhaust hehe. Dont think the neighbours can smell it tho because the wind is always blowing the other way. However i came home on christmas morning because we had stayed the nite at some family's house and when i came home there was a hat sitting on the couch that is sitting in front of my exhaust. Weird eh? i'm pretty sure that you cant sit on that couch and not smell my weed hehe. But i do find that during lights out its a bit harder to smell tho, and he was definitely here during lights out. Kinda freaks me out. Trichs are lookin a bit milky. To me at least. Think i'm gonna let them go until they are around 50% amber or so.

Well, it appears i missed a week, lol. Not a big deal tho. Now the progress will look much better. Think i may have overfed them a bit but everything seems to be doing ok. I only overfed a little bit and so i flushed with a large amount of water. Actually it seems maybe i had a bit of a ph issue because i wasnt getting much growth and since i flushed with 6.3 water they seem to have started fattening again and more and more trichs seem to be appearing. Less on the top buds for some reason. One of the plants isnt doing well at all. Its been the same one that has had problem all along mind you. It seems to be prone to over feeding even tho i am feedingg it just as uch as the others. It is stunted alot and has a much thinner stalk. The buds are much smaller and not as well developed. Also that one plant isnt taking up water very fast at all. Almost nothing it seems. Maybe the soil is to salty? I flushed that one as well. I think i will just continue to flush that one with water for a little while and hopefully i get a little bit of decent bud production in my last week ish. Not exactly sure if i got an 8 week strain or not. I still got plenty of white hairs, i mean not overly alot, but still some. My trichs are cloudy. I think i'm gonna wait till they turn amber tho. Hopefully its an 8 week cycle because so far i've dodged a bullet with my landlord coming and i would love to get these chopped down and dry before he decides he wants to come. I accidentally bumped a bud last week sometime and it kinda snapped so i decided that was gonna be my tester bud and i snapped it off the rest of the way. I let it dry then i sort of cured it. lol. I did cure it but only for like 2 days. When i smoked it, it didnt smell like much, until i broke apart. It was a rock hard nug.
