Does old school marijuana still exist?

Back in the 70's, weed contained around 3% THC.
Today, after generations of selective breeding, most strains rarely contain less than 10% THC (which is considered "low" by modern standards), with the most potent strains containing up to 27% THC.
I don't know about you, but I think that this is fucking insane!

I want to grow a good, low-THC strain. I just don't know if one still exists these days.
What happened to good old 3% THC weed? Could it still be found somewhere? Can you name any (preferably Indica) strains with really low THC content?

you can grow in poor soil without feeding and starve the plant of light , i believe this will give you the results your looking for

Most of the old school strains were sativas from mexico and central america. A dispensary in Hollywood has some Acapulco Gold and some Jamaican.. those are pretty classic strains. Also Panama Red can be in that category. Those are all sativas.

There are high-CBD strains. They're potent but might give you what you seek. However the old weed was generally landrace Sativa. cn

Weed is no more potent now than it was back then....potent weed is just MUCH more abundant nowadays. People were growing potent sensi in the 70's, just not nearly as many people.

i tend to agree with this, plus i tend to disagree that weed back then had such a low thc level.. who's to say the testing methods over 40 years have not advanced to a degree that they're much better at detecting levels of thc?? i think that is a huge part of it..
plus, i just think that the gubmert likes to say that weed back then was much weaker in an effort to say that the weed today is super straong, therefore much more addictive then weed that they smoked when they were kids...
it's a bunch of horseshit imo, and how anyone can really believe that bud from the 60's and 70's only contained 5% thc while bud today is in the 20's is well beyond me..

They called it kind bud. I smoked some with an old hippy and that's what he called it. I just call it nugz. People in the 70's actually smoked the leaves to not just the buds. Lol my parents tell me about that. My mom was stumped she use to smoke weed when she was younger, now she doesn't. She was saying one of her aunt's had a plant they didn't have buds they smoked the leaves after drying them out in the rafters. She was talking about how high she got off it. Guess it was kind bud leaves lol. Why not just find some bagseed from some regs. Cheap, and plentiful.

Actually the weed was a little less potent. It was grown in big crops outdoors with no nutes or anything..

of course they were growing some good weed back then...just looks at the cheech and chong movies. they had a bad ass grow op in nice dreams.
like someone said before there was just alot less people doing it, so not alot of people were smoking the "Chronic" weed.

yah, but not only that, but that's like thinking that everyone today smokes the killer and no mexican brick weed exists still. ... or even vice versa.. yes, i'm sure that there was weed back then that sucked, same as today, but i'm also not naive enough to think that all bud back then was bogus butt weed that didn't get one high..

Im thankful I dont have to smoke shitty pot anymore. northern labs in michigan tested a bunch of different kinds. some mexican brick, some grow op, some dispensary stuff and what they found was the shitty weed had mold bugs and raid in it plus tones of other pesticides.

^ My theory is that taking one hit from a potent weed is going to get me more high than taking many hits from a weak weed.
I think it has to do with the speed THC hits you. The slower it builds up in your system, the milder your high will be. And vice versa - the faster THC peaks in your blood, the more fucked up you will be.
I theorize that the best way for a mild high would be to mix the bud with lots of fan leaves or with some other non-active herb.
But hey, this is just my theory and I'm not an experienced smoker, so what do I know? I just want to be able to take many hits from a joint again and experience a mild high without getting totally smashed.

Some shit that smashes me and makes my heart race after one joint hit. I think it's way too strong and I need to water it down with some fan leaf OR just find a mild, low THC strain.
