Answer to first question no, sometimes I run short :( like now. Second question....yes it is cost effective and rewarding to boot.

I spent $1500 on my initial investment of:
$1100 for a 4.5ft X 4.5ft tent with lights and fans included
$200 for Seeds....I only used 12 and grew 5. I have 10 left.
$200 for Dirt and amendments. I had leftover amendments for a second and third grow.

And an extra $50 a month for electricity during the early winter through early summer. My two harvests was a net weight of just under 3POUNDS with at least 2 pounds being top shelf. The average donation for a zip was $200.

I dont think you mentioned how you want to grow. Costs drop enormously if growing outside.

My wife and I only smoke a small amount (usually one 3 paper every Sat night.) Would not be worth it for us to invest in an inside system. Unless it was a hobby of cause. But by growing outside the cost is free or close to it. So we get close to free pot that I grew, harvested and cured properly without the buying hassles. Well worth it even to a small smoker.

Some great articles on the site in regard to growing cheaply and efficiently on both types in the varies Grow Room threads. Contrary to "popular" belief its a really easy plant to grow.

i use a 250 watt mh to veg and a 400 watt hps to flower. with the 190 cfm inline fan and the 2 240 cfm booster fans, it raises my electric bill about 30.00 a month.
the nutes i use cost about 150 for a 6 month supply, little bullshit you run into monthly, add another 20 a month, and that comes to about 75 bucks a month once you have your tents/cabs, and lights/fans bought. i can spend 50 bucks a week and wish i had more to spend...so at least 200 a month to buy weed, or 75 bucks a month to grow my own. and my own is rapidly approaching the quality they charge 20+ a gram for
Thats the best part about growing as you get more experienced your bud quality gets better, making it even more rewarding!

Tricky question. I usually plenty of flowers to smoke on.

But I like to explore, and try different products.. I'm digging the vape cartridges lately, and there are excellent bakers or candy makers out there will some interesting products I would have trouble making myself. I've been trying out some awesome shatter.. I just dont have the equipment to make that kind of goodness.

And I have no problem throwing down money on good genetics. I spent at least a few hundred last month on some high quality clones.

Another thing I'm willing to spend on is some of the topical cannabis sprays I use for my arthritis, I just dont know the exact formulation. Its called "Xternal" spray. I love it! If I could make it I would.

Definately a trick question. Yes I usually have enough from each grow for me to last til next harvest but.............still doesnt stop me from grabbing any other fire I see. So its a yes and no question

Its a no brainer. If you've got the time, and space you'll come out way ahead. I just got 7 dried oz off one plant. Just use the fox farm trio at half strength. It lasts a long time.

I guess it depends on how much you smoke. If you smoke a gram a week then you really don't need to grow, but if you are like me and smoke 5 joints a day then yes, growing makes sense. If I had to pay for my weed I would be broke, straight up.
So true! If 5 joints = 4 grams, that's one ounce / week.
It adds up fast. I know a guy who buys a $10 joint every day from the legal weed store. That's $300 / month!
Fuck that.

its way more then 4 grams of tomatoes in the roles . I would have to guess 4 roles per 4 grams . depend on how dense it is . so that's still 300 to 500 a month and fuel to the store and back . and you never know if its clean flushed out and mold free and dirty hands all over it . im sure you have found hair in it before nasty . Im a germ fob cant deal with that or jut think somebody put it under there nose and touched it nasty , more reasons to do it your self .

actually that was a ballpark guess when i was posting earlier, after actually looking at my electric bills and prices of this and that its more like 45 a month, which i can live with. when it costs less than 25% of the buying price to grow it, thats a no brainer
