So here im simply going to show how I prune and Defan a larger mom to be ready to produce 100-200 cuts in a few weeks.

This plant is Julius Ceasar Cut from Cali Connection. Ive been pretty vocal about them in the past but this is a very nice cut. Large dense yields of tight buds , loaded with trichs and very pungent and citric smell.

It is grown in Tupor Gold w/ a birth date of 4/30.Feed by Green Planet Nutrients at about 1400ppm 5 days a week as well as Weekly Tea's. Lighting are CMH 315's. enviroment is optimal.

First photo is before and ill be showcasing each stage of my removal of material from the plant starting with all large fan leaves with any discoloration in the stems and then all the rest that reduce light access or airflow.

Look at this lovely lady right here...flower pics as well to come...when i find them.

First post reserved for stages and after shots next week to show the intended growth.

I was a heavy defoliator for the past 3-4 rounds and became a huge believer in terms of yield of quality buds.
But last round I did my usual defol on a couple Bodhi plants and was pleased with the results in every way except for feeling
like these well regarded strains (SSDD, BBHP) are lacking terps and maybe the defol was to blame. But, then again, I had some HSO Blue Dream cuts done the same way and they had great terps.

So now in my current round of a new strain I've been defol shy. I definitely have snipped here and there to open up at least the tops but haven't cleared out nearly as much as I previously had been and my instinct tells me to after my experiences the past few rounds. I see all those bud sites that should have way more light if I defol'ed as much as I'd like and it's making me antsy. lol

At what points in flower do you defol, rusty?

I am on D26 since flip. I am going keep taking a couple leafs every other day and maybe strip at week 7.

I defoliate any large leaves that block light or restrict air movement. Plants will get totally defiolated 3 times in flower, weeks 1-2, 4-5, and wk 7. Where i basically remove any large fan leaves and most of the medium sized ones below my canopy.

If you have ample available food, healthy plants and good lighting leaves photosythesize more efficiently add CO2 and you can have some real fun with VPDs and boost feeding.

Everyday if a leaf finna catch these fingers

But as SWP
If I want stretch end of week 2

If I want squatter plants. Day 3 or 4 of first week

Weeks 4, 6, 8 heavy defoliation.

And as needed everyday...

Not total defoliations but close...
