I've wanted to try drying in place for a while, but I wouldn't trim it, just stop watering, leave in the dark and manipulate RH and air flow. Not much different from what I do now, which is hang dry the entire plant and then dry trim. I find dry trimming preserves more terpenes and leads to a slower dry. A perfect slow dry is more important than the curing process I think. What happens if you just trim the whole plant then stop watering it??
Wouldn’t that super slow dry it? Or would it start cannibalizing the buds or something.
I slow dry and then jar. The only time I open the jar is to pull some out to smoke. I can't imagine curing weed for months. I don't like old weed. I prefer it right after it's dried and ready to smoke. All nice and sticky.I've wanted to try drying in place for a while, but I wouldn't trim it, just stop watering, leave in the dark and manipulate RH and air flow. Old weed ? You should try my 3-6 month cured caramel kush, you’d soon changer your mindI slow dry and then jar. The only time I open the jar is to pull some out to smoke. It wouldn't change my mind. I've cured weed. Got tired of bothering with it and then realized that I prefer it fresher rather than long cured weed. I also like Scotch and Irish Whiskey, IPA's, spicy food, horseradish, etc... When I used to smoke I smoked Winstons. I'm not one for smooth subtle tastes.Old weed ? Do you notice even within a couple of weeks the difference? It wouldn't change my mind. I've cured weed. Nothing wrong with curing if that's what you like. I like it best when I'm cutting the buds off the stems to jar up after it's dry enough to go into the jars and not worry about mold. I do as slow of a dry as I can so it takes 10 days or so before it's ready to jar. I don't let it dry up in 4 days.
But I wouldn't turn down a bowl of you're Kush.
To be honest, I just smoke the weed when it's done and finished drying.Do you notice even within a couple of weeks the difference?
I find 4 weeks to be best in terms of flavour and freshness. It becomes a journey in flavour.
After about 3 months it starts to taste old? But on my palate the flavours become even more complex and the high also seems to become more rounded
Get what your saying dude. As we know oxygen is the number one killer for degrading the buds, you mention about burping for days and months, in the space of my 3 months let’s say I probably quickly burp 3-4 times, like you I dry till buds are dry so no risk of mold. All about keeping the right moisture level within. Less oxygen, less degradation, fresher bud still after months of curing is what I’m trying to say I guessTo be honest, I just smoke the weed when it's done and finished drying.
I don't pay any attention to how long it's been around but I like it within a couple of months. I like it fresh. I've cured in the past. Done all the burping, etc... for days and months. Not for me. Others feel differently or like a different finished product. That's fine.
The flavors I get are still complex and the weed gets me high. But I grow landraces and strains other than the standard polyhybrids people are growing these days so I'm getting weed that is beyond the standard fruity stuff lacking any distinction.
True. Sativas are more woody, floral, spicy even. Wont need as much curing to bring them flavours out.To be honest, I just smoke the weed when it's done and finished drying.

What would I grow? I'm at a point where I have so many different strains and crosses I have a hard time deciding what to grow. I'm going to just start putting stuff in a bowl, closing my eyes, and pulling something out.True. Sativas are more woody, floral, spicy even. Wont need as much curing to bring them flavours out.
Have I tried Kali Mist? I really enjoyed that strain. Debating running some photoperiods this winter.
Hard to resist autos these days when I’m on a limited grow time and I can easily pull a pound in 11 weeks from seed and have 6 odd varieties in a 4x4
But I can’t grow them outdoors. 55’ just won’t have it - they start flowering mid September here and the frost can start End of October. Great for auto flowers with 18hrs sunlight though.
What would u go personally go for if u cud have 4 plants in a 4x4?
A lucky dip! Sounds nice. So with crossing are u working towards a perfect strain or are u simply mixing whatever takes your fancy? What would I grow? I have one cross I've been working on for a few years and have taken it out to F6. But I just can't stop myself from dusting at least one branch of whatever is in flower with some pollen. It's been going on for years which makes choosing what to grow difficult.A lucky dip! Sounds nice. Got any pics? It’s sativa dominant right? I can imagine you have absolutely loads of seeds hahaI have one cross I've been working on for a few years and have taken it out to F6. Seeds are never going to be an issue for me. But I still find myself on the Real Seed Company website looking at landraces I want but don't need. I'm probably just going to bite the bullet and grab a few more landrace strains.Got any pics? It’s sativa dominant right? I can imagine you have absolutely loads of seeds haha
