Yah I remember the first time I got hit with the price of textbooks. Whats really fun is when you shell out for a textbook and then the professor tells you the textbook wont be used the first day of class. Never-mind emailing ahead of time.

One thing a few of my teachers tried to drum into me, was that during your first couple of days at college, don't waste them getting all fucked up, go and find the 2nd year folk and buy their books off them, there are often book sales set up specifically, they can also come pre-annotated

i did it at a public library late at night... sometimes they'd have people making sure you weren't photocopying textbooks... lol... you'd be amazed how good you get at guestimating exactly how much to shrink pages and exactly how to place the book.... it doesn't take long to do 15 chapters.... lol....

Yup, I lost a textbook and had to download it. Constant up and down with pages, always getting lost and confused. I ended up finding the book a week or two later but it still sucked. Forget the laptop and buy all of your books first.
Just go find a job already, you would be able to buy those books in a week.

If you try to sell your books after the semester, you won't get shit. Renting is the better option. If they have to be brand new I usually just get the online version.

Don't buy any books from the college book store. That shit is a racket. And just because the class outline says the book is required does not mean you'll have to have it to get through. There are lots of ways you can find out about particular professors and former students are a wealth of information. Always research the professors because who is teaching the class will make a huge difference in your grades.
