Coir Pots

Anyone had much luck with coir pots?

Would it be advisable to plant a seedling in a small coir pot into a larger 1gal coir pot (prior to the final container)? I'm thinking of how to save space before sexing/culling but don't want to deter root growth or anything...

Sure!

Start your seedling in the coir pot and wait for it's roots to be poking out of it. Then transplant it to your next size container, repeat the process.

Allow your roots to develop some before transplanting seems to help the plant a lot, as they appreciate the new space and size of the container.

Yea, I like the idea of a biodegradable/breathable pot. The DIY ones interest me too but I'm a bit wary of using newspaper as I've no idea what ink is being used etc.
