are coffee grounds good for mj plants?
Tests have proven that grounds do provide alot of N.I wouldn't rely on coffee grounds for nitrogen, but as a free mulch they're pretty good. They help hold moisture and keep the top one inch of soil from getting to hot in the summer. Best of all you can go to any Starbucks and ask for spent coffee grounds. They give them away free to anyone who needs them for their garden.
Sorry but not at all. They help hold moisture and keep the top one inch of soil from getting to hot in the summer.
Any idea how long it takes to degrade? Do you grow with coffee grounds? Starbucks has them for free and I'm going to have to amend my soil. I think my kale greens are reaching the end of their life (I've harvested 3 times already) and I am going to re fresh the soil in their spots before mid summer for my Fall veggies.Only as it degrades..
A lab test shows that coffee grinds provide a generous amount of phosphorus,
potassium, magnesium, and copper. They also release nitrogen into the soil as
it degrades throughout the year.
