Closet Grow Tent: satori

this is my first grow. chose satori because i heard they are very hardy plants and good starter plants for novice growers. pretty resistant to spider mites, handles heat pretty well, and doesnt need that many nutes. something that people wouldnt find favorable is the satori pheno's arent very stable, but im hoping for multiple females that are diff phenos w/ potency, taste, smell, etc...

heres the veg side of the cab. its 22"w x 22"d x 62"h. the skeleton frame of it 1 inch pvc wrapped in black/white panda plastic. planted 5 seeds at first, and 4 of them sprouted one by one, one each day. i presoaked the first five seeds for 24 hrs. germination rate so far is 4/5 but still crossing my fingers for the last one. then i went with mandalas suggestion with #6 and just put it straight in soil.

#1; first one to pop out of the soil

#2

#3; this is the one that kinda made me want to start this journal. it has a stem with a purplish tint while all the others are green. looks pretty healthy, i dont think its low on nitrogren since mandala strains are known for needing less nutes. im really just hopin for some badass genetics :D

#4; this runt sprouted really awkwardly. one side of the leaves are twice the size of the other. had to post it up with a toothpick b/c it just kept drooping over

#6; no presoak. also has a purple stem but its still kinda young

they're all under one 26w cfl right now. 3 bulbs are 5500k, 2 are 6500k. ill double the lighting once they go to full veg. temps with lights on range from 84-88 degrees F (judging by other peoples pics i think the high temps is what is slowing down the growth) lights off the temps are 79-84. running them on 18/6. rh for the majority of the time is between 42-48%. potted them in straight fox farm ocean forest. have the fox farm trio too, idk why though... dont think ill use grw big or big bloom that much if at all. thats pretty much it for now

any feedback/tips/suggestions would be awesome :D

thanks for subscribing. hope the grow will make it worthwhile.

nothing really interesting so far. i think some of them might be showing some signs of mutating. top set of leaves are growing 4 leaves instead of 5/7??

think i have the watering schedule down so far. water every other day, an hour in when the lighting period starts. of course not feeding any nutes. the oldest plant is about 3.5" wide and 3 1/4" tall. the pots are about the size of 4 soda cans, any ideas on when to transplant.

so far ive been growing with the tent door open and closet door open. decided to close both in the last 4 hours of the last light cycle. the temps shot up from a stable 86 to about 92. definitely have a ventilation problem. shit out of any ideas

and for the novice growers or the people that are about to grow.. get some sunglasses and wear them while tending your crop. i really like to light up a bowl and then watch em grow while catching up on some hw/reading in my closet, and holy shit sometimes my eyes hurt. especially when im too high to notice, i come down from the high and then i always realize my sunglasses are laying on top of my desk

thanks man. any tips/suggestions would be awesome.

transplant went ok/ok. should have waited till they root bounded before transplanting. some of the soil went loose on the younger ones but hopefully all is well. added another 26w which in turn rose the temps from 87 avg. to about 90 avg. :( but then again these are some sativas so they should just love the heat.
the 4th plant in the pictures is the little runt. the one is the orange-brown pot is out growing it and that was the bean i put in a week after all the others. theyre started to give off a delightful smell too. cant really pinpoint exactly what it is but its not too pungent. cant wait till winter rolls around so i can mess with some stinky indicas :D

update

entering week 4 of veg from seed. transplanted into 1.25 g pots. wtf is up with depot not having 1 gallon pots? growth has been pretty steady so far. finally added some nutes when cotyledon leaves turned yellow. doubled the lighting, so each plant has 52w directly on top of them. idk what im gonna do with #5 yet (the one in the middle), ill probably just keep it bonzai and hopefully it turns up female. thankfully my scholarship money is coming in a couple of weeks and after factoring book/gas/food/beer money for the semester i have enough for the 400hps + fan/vent. :weed: maybe even a little mini ac :)

Very Very nice. Best part about it, is our plants are very similar. Im switching to a HPS system, (only because my closet is not heated, and gets very very cold in the winter, so this HPS will keepem perfect ;) You gotta keep me updated man, we are newbies together! We can share the Do's and Don'ts! So nice to run into someone with a similar setup. Keep in touch!!

btw talk to me about when you order your HPS i found mine for 140 w/ shipping, so get at me
definitely scribed to this one. and as you mentioned in that other post, it is more efficient for the plants to recieve the light from the side of the bulb compared to just the bottom of the bulb. I'm probably going to snake your chain idea :blsmoke:

i use zipties. (chains first, then to zipties, the adjustable ones) It makes it quick and easy to move my lights and cheep! Ill be installing my HPS at the end of this week. So i will take some photos

If so post a pic when you can! Im checking everday now but it will probly take anohter 2 weeks to see anything. I better get my light tomorrow, it should be here! So ill let ya know on that
