clipping branches

Hey guys I've got one outdoor plant that is by far the best plant I've ever grown so far and she's full on budding right now. I have a lot of lower branches coming off the main colas that are being are being light deprived from the rest of the plant and I'm not too sure whether or not to get rid of them. I feel like I am cutting off valuable buds but at the same time I don't want to sick life from the big juicy colas. Any advice?

I'd try and tie the plant down a little to open it up some before cutting off the branches.

Xactley ^^^^^ Or tuck those fan leaves under. Worse case, cut a few fan leaves if you must. But you really shouldn't need to trim branches (buds grow on branches).

Yea I know the buds grow on branches but I can't tie down anymore haha, did a lot of lst and topping early and now the branches are too stiff to tie down far enough to expose them to light. I'll just let it do its thing as nature intends thanks guys! It wouldn't feel right cutting them off haha

You'll be happy with your decision. Those little buds will get you high when all the pretty stuff is gone. After my worst ever season, last year, I went crazy this year. My cage and two greenhouses are stuffed this year, and just beginning to bud. I'll be adding an extra fan in each greenhouse this week.

I managed to tie down the main colas and exposed the little baby buds quite a bit. I'm stoked for how well this grow is going! I have wasps nesting under the eves of my house this year so I have very few bugs and all the perks of our beautiful sun. Started from a seed I got from a hermied clone last year and much to my surprise I haven't seen a single male flower going on 3 weeks into flower. Do you think feeding once a week fun strength big bloom and tiger bloom from fox farm will give me good dense buds? I don't care for the best weed on earth, just some good dense fresh outdoor sativa

After all these years, I'm still trying to figure out why people want the high density nuggets. I don't think it improves flavor or potency, and actually makes prepping it for joints or pipe weed more difficult. I'd rather have looser buds, full of trichomes. Just my personal observation.

I feel like with more density comes more weed because if it's loose and airy that means it didn't fill in as much, no? With dense heavy buds, you would in turn yield much more on one plant. That's just my train of thought haha

light airy buds are usually the result of too much heat. dense heavy buds (imo) are the result of patience, by not harvesting too early.

I often have to prune the inside of my monster plants to prevent stem rot and other problems late in flower. For me the small loss is worth the prevention.

I'm very satisfied with my yield/weight off my plants. Some strains produce denser buds than others. Expertly grown indoor grows are denser, and a bit more potent than outdoors. Based on a lot of experience, indoor growing changes the composition of the Cannabinoids.(shorter lasting effects). Also, indoor grows tend to be harsher to smoke, which I dislike. The additional cost of indoor grows makes it unacceptable for me.

A few years ago, one of my greenhouses had a neighbor's light shining on one corner through budding. The exposed buds were very light and airy. The exposed plant was an Arjan's Haze. Those airy buds were POTENT. Black calyxes that were so densely covered with trichs that they looked lavender. I got two wheelbarrow loads(nearly 3 pounds trimmed) off that plant.

Cut some and leave some.
