cant get rid of leaf curl????

This is my first hydro run , Ive done soil without a any problems with fantastic results, but I keep hearing about HYDRO and the benefits so I did all my reading and research so here I am with this massive problem with curling I thought maybe temps and nute burn and nitrogen so I cut back on nute to 1/4 strength (foxfarm trio) its been 4 days since I change the water in res and still have this DAMMM curling the plant is still growing but this is driving me nuts what am I doing wrong? Oh and cant seem to get a grip on ph always creeping up is that normal currently at 5.8 temp at 77ish and and just switch to 12-12.
400hps and 10gal tote about 8 gal of well water about 215ppm with nute about 500 keeping it low.
please someone by the pics can you tell me whats wrong pics are about 2 to 3 week span

I got a couple doing this too. I have looked into it quite a bit and the best explanation I have found is Nitrogen toxicity. So you might want to look into that not sure how you would resolve it in hydro though. In soil soil-less you quit feeding Nitrogen till it clears up. Hope this helps

since I just started to change the light cycle into flowering should I just cut out nitrogen completely? or tone down?
It just boggles me because I added very little but the leaves still curling perhaps there is stored nitrogen in plant?
since Im a newbie to HYDRO ill ask a newbie question what is the correct nitrogen ratio in hydro nutes 0-0-0 for vegging ?

Perhaps its not getting enough? Id check the amounts u add vs what cannabis needs and see where you stack up. Your res hVe a heater? I never used hydro but om sure it would help go know about ur setup. Is it dwc? What kinda pump and stones if so? I've heard res with bad o2 levels can have similar symptoms but again. Id post every detail of your setup and maybe a more educated dro grower will chime In

No correct npk for hydro I dont think. I believe its all strain dependant on what suits the plants. Veg shoj be higher I. X-0-0 than in flower then higher in 0-X-X for flower. Could be wrong but I dont thi k so. Numbers cant be formulated to exAct specifics for all strain s but general estimation instead. Which im dabbling in dwc get grow so ill be doing more research but hands on is best leaning method to so. Hope I was of help

Pretty sure PH issue is the cause of the clawing.
It happens faster and more intense in DWC, but this happens in every medium.
Happened in my coco setup last grow, easily fixed though.

i wouldn't use well water, to begin with. no telling what's in it, and the levels. if all other things are in range, water temp., ph, etc. then i'd go with nitrogen tox. this is almost always the cause of, "the claw." although your case doesn't seem to be that bad. i'm assuming you're using hydro. nutes. just one plant?

Your ph sounds right so I would lean towards nitrogen tox!

Didn't even read the part about well water, I think he just solved the case for you.
Don't use well water, it's more than likely contaminated and doesn't have a stable PH.
Well water changes on the temperature of the air around it, and the ground, so one day the well water can be cold, another hot, the point is, when water temperature fluctuates and isn't circulated or renewed it's going to cause a lot of problems, one of them being PH & PPM fluctuating with it.
I'd go with it being contaminated first though, I wouldn't even use well water to take a bath.

I have a pretty strong air pump so theres enough o2 but PH hasnt been my strong suit and not consistent can res temp effect ph and if its nitrogen should I change my res agian to no nitrogen?

Water temperature can effect PH & PPM, cold water is more stable, hot water turned into cold water not as stable, hot water not stable at all.

so should I filter the water and store over night to regulate water temp or should I just buy bottled spring water
just to double check what is proper water temp for dwc?
and as for the nitrogen theory?

I'm not a huge fan nor am I the best person to talk to about DWC.
From what I'm told though, 65-68F seems to be the sweet spot for temperature in DWC.

I don't believe in the nitrogen theory, but we can cross that bridge when we get there.
I don't have doubts about it though, considering you've been using well water, I would think it was contaminated with something, and as soon as you stop using it, it will get better.

I suggest if you can, to stop using well water all together, can you not use tap? Or is your tap well water?
If not, I suggest filtering it, then leaving it overnight to get the temperature stable, then checking all your meters with it.

Maintaining a stable temperature in DWC is very crucial as well, if your temps in DWC aren't stable, you can't expect anything else to be stable.

I personally don't suggest bottled water unless you can afford it, as I think it would be a lot of money to use it on a DWC rather than a soil grow.

thanks for the reply, yes i live in country area and our tap comes from deep well that taps into a under ground spring and yes Ive tested for ppm and they do fluctuate between 175 to 300 ppm
I will try filtering and store over night and test my ppm and hopfully I can come closer to solving this problem

Sounds good, I'm sure it'll fix. Just be sure to not change anything significantly until it gets better.
Last thing you need is for it to get worse, in DWC one big mistake can cost you, your entire crop.

If you do have funds to play around with, I would suggest getting an RO filter system. It will last you forever, it will be worth the money, as you can use it for other things, and it will pay itself off if you end up selling, as it will last you forever and not just the night like bottled water.

In bud the N should be about half of the P-K. A res that goes over 70F will experience lockout.
The well water shouldn't be a problem if it can be used for human consumption.

not always so. i use to live in an area where the water was safe to drink, but you wouldn't want to. tasted/smelled bad. did a ppm check, and it was through the roof, around 1000. even with his ppm of 2-300. who knows what's in it? he could have it tested, but the op said it varies. i imagine that if the ppm varied, then so could the content. my tap is ok now, but i still buy r/o water, and avoid my tap water...
